What happened to everyone? Is everyone still pleased with their band and doing well?

I love mine and still think it was the best decision ever. Hope all is well.;)

Hey Melissa, I haven't been on here in a while (like a year)! I am still pleased with my decision. I haven't lost all that i wanted to but I haven't been doing all the things i should. I am back in the gym and eating better since the beginning of this month. I am still down between 65 and 70 lbs depepnding on when I wiegh, so I am pleased. I still would like to drop 30 more pounds over the next year. Wish me luck! i hope you are still doing well! Don't know if my old measures are still posting. I will update them soon. Take care!

Hello, I had my band done in august 07. I lost approx 60 pounds the first year and then got off track when my dad passed last year August 08. I am ready to get back on track but am somewhat embarrassed that I have gained back 30 pounds.

I'm still hanging in there. I've gained about 6lbs in the last 18 months, but I never count calories any more so it's to be expected. My BMI is still below 25.

I've gone through all 4 seasons in the same size clothing (never happened before in my life), so I've gotten rid of all my old wardrobe. Even my winter coats had to go--too big!

I do have occasional problems with heartburn/reflux if I eat right before bed. I still have foods that I can't eat no matter what (oranges / Pasta / cherry tomatoes / anything cold before noon).

Still smiling... Still the best thing I've ever done for myself...

Hi I was banded on August 27, 2007 and to date have no regrets. In December my lapband surgeon decided to do an routine upper GI to see how my band and my little pouch were doing. Well it showed that my pouch was a little bit enlarged even though I did not have any acid reflux or any symptoms. So he took the fill out partly before Christmas and the rest in January. So right now I have no fill and my weight spiked up about 18 lbs. so I am a little discouraged but I go for a fill tomorrow so I am hoping to get right back on track. I am exercising about 5 days per week and trying to follow the plan but without my tool I am a failure at this. I have been eating all of the foods I have missed or used to hurt or get stuck especially bread. I am definitely a food Addict but I am not going to let this defeat me. I will get back on track and get to goal. Has this happened to anyone else? Thanks.:cursing:

Hey :scared2:

Well, my band slipped exactly two years and one month after it was put in so I've just been rebanded! I had a good loss in the two years, 50kgs, but it was slow to start... so this is almost like a second chance.

mylapspirit: Yeah, when my band slipped, I could eat a lot more of things I couldn't eat beforehand... so I did eat a bit more bread all of a sudden, after months of barely touching the stuff... didn't gain much weight but didn't loose it either! It's normal, like opening the gates for a jumpy racehorse... we leap out.

hehe as for clothes, I am in very old clothing now... but I'm not yet small enough for the cheap clothing! So I have to be patient till I get a bit thinner.

Hi all!

I have no idea when the last time I checked in here but I put it on my New Year's Resolutions List to stay connected/reconnect with my Lapband roots to keep me on track since I realize that as I go into Year 3...it's all about maintaining (which I never really had much success at throughout my life!)

To answer the initial question--I am happy with my success---took me about 2 years to lose 115 lbs....had some slow periods, some faster losses. But, overall, I am thrilled with it all. It's been a wonderful journey....one I wouldn't have wanted to miss it for a quick weight loss!!! LOL!! I say that now that it's behind me.....!!!

It was still the BEST decision I've ever made! There are time I see my reflection in the mirror and need to go back and check that's it's really me! I went from a Size 22-24 to a very comfy size 8 petite. WOOO-HOOO! I am at a point where I don't want to lose any more weight....just maintain. Therein lies my daily challenge. The blog that I started at the beginning of my journey is what keeps me focused on it all. Plus, I find other ways to remind myself of it on a daily basis. I do a lot of little things with key words in the passwords I use. Plus, I own up to my Lapband whenever anyone asks how I lost the weight--it keeps me honest and cognizant of it all. Also, when I reached my 50 lb milestone, I bought myself a Brighton Bracelet that I wear daily that says "Live the Life You Love" and when I reached my 100 lb loss, I bought a Sabika crystal bracelet to wear along side it. When I see them....I know how far I've come and I recognize that I don't want to GO BACK!

My Lapband is at an excellent restriction right now. I have done pretty well with most of the rules but I'm by no means perfect. I have not had Pasta or bread or any carbonated drinks since my surgery. Those were the things I thought would be the hardest things to give up. Thankfully, it's now my way of life. So, I know it can be done!!!

I'd love to invite all my CrazyAtes brothers and sisters to visit my blog.....

Stories from the road.......

Hope you are all well and I hope we can stay connected!!

It's been almost a year since the last post, but I'm back after a long hiatus. This past Friday, I had my port replaced. It was leaking and after months of testing with fills and refills, my doctor decided to replace it. I knew something was wrong when I had no restrictions at all and gained 20 pounds since September. Five days post-op and I can definitely feel the difference.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
