I just had my first PB and Sliming experience -- not pleasant. For me, the "stuck" feeling was almost in my throat. It felt like I really needed to burp. The need became so overwhelming that I went to the sink and tried to burp. What came up was foamy mucous-like "slime". After several episodes of this, I "burped" up a small piece of bread -- instant relief!

Prior to this episode, I would have that stuck feeling, but had been able to burp and the food would go down -- like you mentioned. The PB episode was more painful and included the sliming.

It sounds exactly like what I had I'm glad I didn't have the sliming but does that feel like you got to vomit? It's so horrible

It's kinda like instant "aversion therapy", isn't it? Usually, if you have a PB or a really bad "stuck" feeling, you can bet you've either eaten too quickly, taken too large of a mouthful, not chewed it well enough, or eaten something your band just isn't going to be able to tolerate.

Hate to be ignorant, but what does PB stand for? I have had the sliming thing a time or two. I agree, it's like aversion therapy but still much more tolerable than out of control weight gain!

Haha...yes, you will, Erin. :)

It takes a while to unlearn what you've done most of your life.

I hate that feeling ): I know I'll make sure to be careful and what I ate was kind of dry so that could of been why to but when I do it again it'll probably be worse huh?

Oh my the first time this happend to me It felt like someone was taking a sharp knife to my stomach. It HURT me so bad.

I thought I will never let this happen again.;) Well it did happen again. I didnt over eat, it is what I ate the band did

not let it go down. I guess we all have to learn what will work

and what won't. I do have to say that when its a pb its fast so you better hope your not in a public place..:w00t:

Well, i was unlucky enough to experience this for the first time last night! ;) I am 6 weeks post op and have not had a fill yet (first one scheduled for Wed!)....so I dont really have any restriction....or so i thought.

I sat down to have some Soup and a small few pieces of chicken...well...i guess the chicken was too dry, i ate too much and/or I didnt chew properly....I felt it struggling to go down...and omg i could feel it "stuck"....i kept belching..alot....small ones but numerous ones...finally i went to the sink, and thankfully the chicken came up. I was about to panic because man, it was sure not a pleasant feeling when it was stuck! I immediately felt better and then totally understood the "sliming" content.

The chicken WAS very dry..you can bet, especially after my fill on wed..i will be very very careful with ANY kind of dry meat!

Being stuck sucks! It really hurts and feels like a sharp pain in the center of my chest. Usually if I start slimming I can just wait and maybe burp a little and that seems to resolve the issue. I have however had a few times where I got stuck really bad. So the only option is to PB. Which is not exactly vomiting. More like just pushing it out, since it is not really coming from your stomach. its crazy because sometimes foods i can normally eat without issue and then what do you know I am stuck. My band has a mind of its own.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
