I can drink beer or soda without any problems except one... it stretches our pouches!!! THAT is why we aren't supposed to drink it.

I enjoyed a few beers durning an overnight scrapbooking trip with my friends. A week later my esophogus and pouch were dialated. The doc said it was because of the carbonation. Mind you they were Miller 64s and I took about a half hour to drink each one! But they still cause a major problem.

And I am well over a year out!

Patti,

How did you find out about the dialation? Were you having problems?

I had my first beer after being 6 months out,

and I didn't have any trouble. I wanted the 2nd one, but was a good girl and stopped with the one.

Soda really causes me problems though.

I used to drink a 12 pack of soda a day,

and have only tried a sip or two since March 5, 2009 (surgery date).

My doctor said a "treat" once in a long time is okay. She doesn't expect me to be a prefect lapband client. It's just not human, in our society to not treat ourselves with food/drink once in a while.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
