Hello all. New to the banded world. I was banded on 7/20 and i am currently in the mushies stage. I also had a ventral hernia repair, so i still have pain, but from the hernia repair, not from the band. What i want to ask is this. How bad is it that i havnt taken my multi Vitamin or Calcium until today. Almost a month has gone by since my banding and today is the first day i've taken them..... :w00t:

I didn't take mine at all until I was in "mushies" because they are hard to handle on an empty stomach, for most of us.

You should be ok; your doc will do bloodwork again soon anyway.

I have been taking Flintstones chewable since I was banded on 7/29. I have been eating mushy foods for a few days now with no problem. I have had flounder, scallops and other soft foods. I know I have been very, very lucky...

I started my Vitamins when I went on the mushie stage. I am not good at taking them because sometimes they make me feel a little funky. I do my best but usually wind up skipping a day here and there.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
