Recommended Posts

i had surgery in november 2007 and had a few fills i have a 4cc band and is filled to 2cc i still get food stuck once in a while but am thinking of getting another fill due to not losing much weight lately. i can eat just about anything most of the time execpt once in awhile things get stuck. i've lost 60 pounds in a year and a half and want to speed it up. i have to say that my diet isnt the best and i cheat alot( not gaining any though lucky)

I say if you cheating by eating foods that slip through, chips, Cookies or ice cream then don't get a fill because it won't help. But if you are seeing that you can eat a larger amount of solid foods then I vote yes on getting a fill.

For the record I have not had a fill yet and so this is not an area I have much knowledge in.

If it were me,I would really focus on not "cheating", but eating as healthy as possible for a couple of weeks to see what kind of results you get and to see what your portion size is. If you are getting stuck at times you may not want a fill - that may cause you not to be able to eat healthy solids, only slider foods.

I'd give it a couple of weeks to reassess with better food choices and really making sure you chew well and take small bites (I still struggle with this.) I get stuck occasionally too, and personally I just don't want to be any tighter at this point.

thanks for the feedback i do need to focus on healthier foods i can sometimes eat more than i should be able to like a whole steak but other times i cant eat much. i am finding myself getting hungrier more often but when i talked to the surgeons office they want me to eat every 3 hours anyway. i just get frustrated because sometimes i can eat alot and i want to eat less but i already have good restriction some times and get food stuck. it depends on what it is like chicken i have a hard time with but i can eat almost anything i just want to eat less

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
