1st fill since reband!

Recommended Posts

So went in today for my first fill since being re banded. I was shocked and concerned when the doc said he was adding 4ccs....considering I only filled to 3.5ccs last time before I got overfilled and my problems began.

When I questioned it I was told they put in a bigger band . when my heart settled back to normal he added 4ccs...water went down fine :) So I have started over. They want me back in 2 weeks for my next fill. it is understandable now why i've been hungrier than the last time and eating more and why i've put on a little bit of weight because i've been grazing more! :)

And FYI: Nurse said that new research has indicated that if you feel uncomfortable after you eat something (even if it doesnt get stuck) you should go on fluids at least for the next meal.

Good for you! Glad you are back on the band and filled. I wasn't rebanded but had my first fill on 08-04. I have a 10cc band and at first she filled me with 5cc's but Water wouldn't go down so she took some out and I am at 4.6cc's which apparently is a little aggressive but I am glad I am feeling the restriction. Good Luck!

Ro~ So glad to hear that you are doing well and had your "first" fill! Sounds like they will be moving you toward restriction faster than before.

I bet the weight will start sliding off. Good luck with your new band!

Ro,

I'm so sorry matey I've not been visiting LBT often of late and completely missed that you were being rebanded. I'm glad to hear it all went well.

I was just reading the Elpheba quote in your signature too. I never paid much attention to it but last night I went to see Wicked (I've been in Melbourne on business). I cried! It was amazing. And now your signature makes complete sense to me.

Ro, I'm just now seeing this. Congrats on your fill! Really hope it helps ya.

Thanks for the tip on the food/liquid thing. I'm stressed out and got stuck on greek yogurt this AM so I'm doing liquids right now. Hot tea is even going down a little slow.

You take good care of yourself! Keep checking back. You and Lellow have been missed!

Hugs!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
