Nope you are completely justified! The curve thing is funny to me. My one friend keeps commenting on how my boobs are shrinking.all I keep saying is so is the rest of me! And the crazy thing is I'm still a D cup. Which is what I was to begin with! I'm 16lbs from goal and I still have plenty of curves! And I'm sure you will too. You should look up the thread "I'm your face moments" there's a couple of really funny posts there.

Triplet, you are so funny! I can touch my toes, but painting them is not that easy! As a matter of fact, I've noticed that in the last year if I wear pants that are too tight I can barely get shoes and socks on! People keep asking me if I'm excited about my surgery... you're damn right I am!

Hey nice to see you on this thread Jason! I would love to ride a bicycle again too. I bought a cheap one a couple years ago in an effort to lose weight. It was SO exhausting just to go around my neighborhood... not only because I was out of shape, but because I was too heavy for the bike itself. This was when I was much lighter than I am now, too. When I lose enough weight to ride a bike again I'm going to reward myself with the nicest one I can afford (err... that might not be a very nice one... lol)

Texas: I guarantee you that most of us have had our little fantasies about being thin and shoving it in the faces of the people who mistreated us because of our weight. I'm positive you're not alone :sneaky:

Mommy: Ditto on #2! I am only 22 and healthy as a horse, but I have gone to SO MANY doctors for various things not related to my weight just to hear them talk about how I need to lose some weight. I always wanted to say "No sht sherlock!" I also love how doctors accuse obesity for being the cause of EVERY fat person's ailment. I have a story about that actually. A few years ago I broke my ankle when I fell and didn't realize it so I continued to walk on it causing it to heal badly and actually grow a piece of bone that was digging into my tendons and nerves. Anyway, I went to the doctor a couple years after I broke it because I was having a lot of pain in my ankle and at the time I didn't know that this was why. So what did the doctor say? I have ankle pain because I am overweight and it will subside if I lose weight. This diagnosis made me so angry and I thought that it was so stupid because only one of my ankles was giving me problems. It also didn't help me with the crippling ankle pain I was dealing with at the time. How the heck am I supposed to lose weight if I can hardly walk? Anyway, I took it upon myself to schedule an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon and almost cried when he showed me the xray of my ankle and proved that it was in fact a legitimate non-fat related problem ...but I digress.

I feel very vain writing this down, but I guess it is time I want to do something for me and have a bit of vanity. Alot of us have similar wish lists, it makes me think I am not alone. Enjoy!

1. Tattoo

2. Boobies/Tummy Tuck

3. Swim again - I miss swimming.

4. Alaskan Cruise on my 40th Birthday - specifically looking forward to formal night and being able wear a sexy fancy dress that shows off #2.

5. Pictures for Hubby

6. Have a lap for my hubby to lay his head in, to hold my nieces/nephews.

7. Not have to worry about the strength of the chair before sitting down and weather I will be stuck if I do sit down.

8. Learn to Kayak

9. Get a couple new piercings :)

10. Move like a person instead of an elephant.

Don't feel vain at all! You just want to experience all the things that your weight has kept you from. Maybe it is a little vain of all of us, but maybe that's just what the doctor ordered :)

I hear ya on movin' like a person instead of an elephant. I can't tell you how many times I've knocked things over with my hips or my butt!

Mine arent necessarily in any particular order:

*I want higher self esteem. To be able to look at myself in the mirror and actually LIKE the person who is looking back at me.

*I would like to be able to shop in a lingerie store and buy some of the stuff that I know would really make my husband's heart skip a beat.....and look good in it!

*I want to be able to go into ANY clothing store and be able to buy any article of clothing without any problem, and not have them be plus sized or from the maternity section.

*I would like to go to the beach with my kids and not have to wear shorts that go below my knees and a tank top to cover myself up. I want to wear a bathing suit, and not necessarily a bikini.....although that would be nice!!

*I want to help coach my daughter's softball team and get out and be physically a part of her team.

*I would like to be able to walk into a restaurant, order a meal and not feel like the waiter, and every other person in the room is judging me for my meal choice, based solely on my weight.

*I want to go back to Legoland and ride the rollercoaster that I was humiliated at, without incident. And all the other coasters my heart desires!!!

*I want Shaelin, my daughter, to look at me and say, "Mommy, you are skinny now." She tells me that I am fat all the time...

*I would like to be able to wear shorts that are above my knees without feeling self conscious. Same goes with dresses. I would like to wear them and a pair of heels without feeling uncomfortable.

*I want to be one of the "skinny" girls when I go out with my friends or even my family....

Just some of the many things I would LOOOVE to accomplish with the help of the lapband surgery. I am still of course, waiting for insurance approval or denial...

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
