I'm 19, but I'm in my second year of college. I was banded July 23rd so i cant say much for the journey yet. What I can tell you is to be prepared and make sure this is somethign you want because this is NOT easy. Its not an easy way out by any means like ppl think. But if you're sure you're ready and feel you need to do this, go for it. I on the other hand regretted it while recovering, kept telling myself i was too young to do this. Good luck.

yeah, i am sure i want to do this, wanted to do this since i was 16, i rather do it while im still young so i can enjoy myself the way i should be. it took 9 months just to get my surgery date, im nervous and scared and all but i know this is the best choice i made, i dont want to back out now, look how long it took me. i do know it is hard and its not easy, but if you follow the rules right, you will succeed. i didnt want to do this when i was older because of excess skin and all. im glad im doing this while im still young, im pretty sure later you will be happy with your choice. thanks and good luck to you too (:

Hey Erin, I hope your surgery went well. Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones with only a little bit of pain or discomfort. How are you doing?

Well haha we have some things in common. First of all, our name and our lapband situation, with school and everything. I can't speak from a lapbander perspective, BUT, I don't regret the decision to get banded on my 18th birthday [which is this december] I would rather make this decision young, because either way if something goes wrong and it has to be removed, I'm still young, and if not, I get to live a long happy life, that I've always wanted to live.

Today I went to the county fair, and there is this one ride, and its a tight squeeze going in, but when it came my turn to get in, I coudn't climb in, first of all because it was up to my breasts, and I do not have that much arm strength to pull myself up, and secondly because it was a very TIGHT squeeze and I was SO embarrassed, but that made me realize that this time next year not only will I be healthier but I won't have to deal with everyone staring and laughing at me.

More or less, every single day I cherish my decision more and more... hope I helped somewhat. Good luck!

Hey guys! I's 19 and I'm scheduled for the 16th of September and I am super nervous. I thought that the 6 month diet would never end but now that it is almost time I could really use everything slowing down. How are you guys doing? Any advice on how to make it easier? I hope everything is better now Erin :tongue2:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
