Hey Erin, I hope your surgery went well. Hopefully you're one of the lucky ones with only a little bit of pain or discomfort. How are you doing?

18 and 19 year olds
I'm 19, but I'm in my second year of college. I was banded July 23rd so i cant say much for the journey yet. What I can tell you is to be prepared and make sure this is somethign you want because this is NOT easy. Its not an easy way out by any means like ppl think. But if you're sure you're ready and feel you need to do this, go for it. I on the other hand regretted it while recovering, kept telling myself i was too young to do this. Good luck.

Getting approved at 19...was it hard?
I'm 19 and was approved easily with Empire BlueCross BlueShield insurance. I didnt have to do much, New York Bariatrics took care of everything, no hassle at all for me.

Getting & keeping a boy/girlfriend?
I've been in a relationship with a girl whose skinny now for about 3 months, we've known each other for years. She's skinny and I'm overweight but it doesnt seem to bother her. I even got the Lap-Band without her knowing.

I need help!
Hey everybody, I recently got Banded on 7/23. The next day I felt like crying because I felt like I made a terrible decision. The pain is a major reason I feel like this, I cant do much. The pain around the port is horrible, the other two incisions are fine. I walk frequently to get rid of the gas pain but it still exists. But what i need is your opinions, your stories etc. How did u feel after? I'm so worried that I made a terrible decision. Im not missing food, i can swallow liquids fine. I just cant sleep in a bed, lie down, shower by myself. Im so worried now that I've been online reading these lapband horror stories. About the erosion, rejection, slipping, etc. I dont think I could deal with the pain from the surgery again. Please, reply and let me know what you think.
