I just wanted to know if everybody else is doing okay? Just thought I would let everyone know that I have to start my battle over with a new doctor. This really sucks!! I have to go to his seminar, I wish every doctor would accept every other doctors seminars! Well I think I am done whining, hope everyone has a good week and weekend!

hi wheetsin - that's great - there are a few doctors around the area - Dr. Malley, whom I love and adore, Dr. Hoehn whom I would have also loved but he doesn't accept Mexico patients which I am. And Dr. Waniewsky - she was my 3rd choice. There are others close in the Topeka area also. But the 3 I listed are in the KC Metro Area and I don't know what the prices of surgery are but there are some names for you to start with.

Odd happening of events. A friend of mine had RNY a little over a year ago with Dr. Hoehn and strongly recommended him, so I called yesterday to see when their next information session was and - surprise - it was yesterday night! Short notice but we made it. Good thing I called, because my upcoming work travel & vacation schedules have me out of town for every other session through the end of the year.

I was impressed with Dr. Hoehn's personal statistics and their comprehensive treatment team. I'm still in the research phase, but so far I really like everything I've heard and personally observed about him.

I've made the decision to go ahead and submit my prelim paperwork, get my physical, etc. That way if/when I decide to go through with this, I'm ready to go (and if I can't get approved for some reason, I'll know it in advance and can let DH know to break out the checkbook!)

BTW - I have UHC EPO coverage. Anyone else in the area working through that carrier?

I liked Dr. Hoehn too but he didn't accept MX patients - I love Dr. Malley too - he is great - can't go wrong either way - for some reason I just didn't get a good vibe from the female doc Dr. Waniesky - but that was just a personal vibe - not anything else. best of luck to you all - keep us updated!

Hi,

I live south of St. Louis. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I have not had such a success with my band and know it's my own fault. Need a pick-me-up from some fellow Missouri Banders. I virtually had no aftercare. I have had fills done by a radiologist in my hospital where I work but basically that's it. It's time to get movtivated and lose this weight...I need all the support I can get!!! The band is a wonderful tool...but you have to use it!!!!

Thanks for letting me get this off my conscience.

Roger De La Torre in Wentzville did my surgery, hopefully the aftercare is better then in 2002.

I am 99% sure dr wagner is going to be my doctor. He has done a couple of people on here.

I had my surgery with him on Oct 6th and he was awsome, he took care of my reflux and my hy hernia all at the same time. I am so glad I had it done. The scarring was minimal and he had great bed side manners I hope all goes well with you

Hello everybody in Missouri ,

How is everyone? Things here are great. Just went to the doctor today and had a great report and I didn't get a fill. My doctor thought I was doing great. I'm down 50 lbs since August 24, 2005. I'm feeling great, but have not dropped a size in clothing yet.. If anybody has had the same thing happen Let me know how long it takes. Thanks a bunch Pam from Missouri

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
