I use medical adhesive remover. SMITH & NEPHEW Uni-Solve Adhesive Remover: Compare Prices, View Price History and Read Reviews at NexTag You can buy it online or at a medical supply place. I had a major surgery a couple of years ago and was covered in that sticky mess. I tried everything and nothing worked until I found out about the adhesive remover.

SuzanneG!! Thanks so much for that info. I want to make sure ahead of time that I can get rid of that adhesive stuff. I have a mental thing about bandaids, tape, and sticky stuff in general, eeuuuww, and was worried about that. (I know, weird thing to be mental about!) I will have to endure it for as long as necessary, but now I will be prepared for when I can get rid of that icky stuff.

mbranham, thanks for asking a very important question!

When I went to the surgeons for my 1 week checkup I asked for some of that adhesive remover.

I was ready to use Goo Gone!

Eucalyptus oil works on amything sticky or dirty...

(carpet stains as well)

not sure if it is available over in USA (its an australian product)

it would be stocked by a pharmacy/chemist/drugstore. Definitely worth hunting for because you can use it for so many things...

Uses for eucalyptus oil

Using eucalyptus oil around the home

There's nothing quite like the scent of a eucalytpus forest after an extended dry spell is broken by rain - everything smells so clean and fresh!

Uses for Eucalyptus oil around the house

Aside from medicinal uses, eucalyptus oil can be used around your home to replace many environmentally harsh synthetic chemicals.

Penny, a professional cleaner, wrote to me with these tips:

"I make a spray and wipe with Water, eucalyptus oil and some washing up liquid. The idea comes from a hospital cleaner and works well. Proportions are not rocket science. Fill bottle mostly with Water - add a slurp of dishwashing liquid and then a capful or thereabouts of 100% eucalyptus. shake gently to mix. Works well on all surfaces.

I use it diluted again in a little water in a bucket and it is great for all those finger marks that are hard to move from laminex finishes."

- You can also make a general disinfectant for toilets etc and again, it's a very simple recipe. mix 50 ml (1.6 oz) of eucalyptus oil with a liter (quart) of water. That's it - you can store it as you would a normal disinfectant.

- Eucalyptus oil can be used neat in order to remove sticker/decal residue from glass

- Add 1-2 teaspoonfuls of eucalyptus oil to your load of washing for a fresh scent along with the anti-microbial benefits

- Use the oil neat to help remove paint, grease and ink from clothes

- If you have a hanging car air freshener that's almost dead, reinvigorate it by adding a few drops of eucalyptus oil

- Half a teaspoon mixed with half a liter of water makes for a good bug repellant for plants

- Use it as a stainless steel cleaner

- To use as a room air freshener, Mix a quarter of a teaspooon or 15 drops of eucalyptus oil with a half teaspoon of vodka, place in an atomizer/spray bottle and add 2 cups of water. This should be quite subtle, so you may need to add more.

Rubbing alcohol works decent enough.

My doctor sent me home with a packet of adhesive remover, try asking to see if they can spare some because this is what works best as it was made for this.

Hi, I'm a newbie here but I actually have an answer for this one! Use baby powder. It works great! You just kind of rub it over it and the adhesive "rolls" right off. I think a Dr. told me this one time.

Mine sorta faded out over a month..........it looked bad but I was home from work for a month so I didn't care. I was in PJ's anyway and slept my way through that month so no worries.........one day it was just gone.

I DID try goo gone...it didn't work very well. :D What worked for me was using plain old soap and Water on a washcloth. I also picked at it while I was in the shower every day.

lol I just rubbed it off with the towel after I took a shower and it came right off fairly easy. I was wondering how I was gonna get it off for the first few days, my fiance told me to use baby oil but that did nothing. but yeah after a couple days when you're a little more comfortable with your wounds just rub around the tape area with a wet towel.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
