What are some dreams or goals you have for yourself

Recommended Posts

I am just curious to know what some of the things in life you either want to do or hope to do with your weight loss surgery.

For instance for myself some of the things I hope to do once I get to my goal weight are.

1. Cant wait to ride many of the Roller Coasters with my kids. I loved them growing up when I was a few years younger but since I gained a lot of weight I have not been able to enjoy them.

2. I have always wanted to go skydiving, and one day soon I hope to do that.

3. This one is more of a comfort thing for myself. I have always wanted a "sports car" With my weight loss I plan on getting a new Camaro ^_^

Anyway I thought this might be an interesting thread so please feel free to share those dreams and goals.

To play with my kids on a daily basis... running around the yard, park, wrestling with them on the floor, biking etc.

Taking kids on small trips to Water parks, zoos, just all the neat stuff out there in the world.

Driving my dream car that I already own. I bought a 2001 Dodge Viper in 2005 and got too large to drive it comfortably. Thought about selling it because of that reason... pitiful.

There are many other things I would like to list... I am ready to live life!

Jason

Funny, I have the same idea. I said I wanted to go to Kings Island to ride all of those rides again.

Funny how a lot of people (including myself) really look(ed) forward to riding roller-coasters again. I now love going to amusement parks with my kids and going on all of the rides - a huge NSV !

My wife and I both had surgery last year. We could no longer fit in most coaster seats. We had a great time at Cedar point this summer.

2. I have always wanted to go skydiving, and one day soon I hope to do that.

To put it mildy, no way in hell. I have a horrible fear of heights. I did get to go parasailing in Cozumel in April, we were over the limit on previous cruises.

3. This one is more of a comfort thing for myself. I have always wanted a "sports car" With my weight loss I plan on getting a new Camaro :tongue2:

I have to question your taste here, The 2009 Mustang Pony in Vista Blue is clearly a better choice.

One of my goals was getting back into 36 jeans. Now that I am 3 pounds from my goal I bought a pair of 34's today.

I'm running again, and hope to do a half marathon next year.

I want to own a motor bike that won't cost me $10,000+ :tongue2:

I drive less than 20 miles, mostly city.. a motor bike would save me so much, but unfortunately they all have weight limits unless I invested in a massively expensive fatboy harley or something.

- While I love doing it.. I'd like to not be the "assumed choice" to play Santa Claus every Christmas because of my size.

I can totally see your point on this one  I am down to a size 42 and about 12lbs shy of being at a weight I was at 12 years ago. I have read quite a few of your posts on here and I can not wait to be able to start running. I am still in the "walking phase but I am trying to increase speed and distance every week.

I have not been to Cedar Point since I was about 12 but I cant wait to take my kids there. I love all the roller coasters there. Although many were not there many years ago.

Thanks for the comments :skep:

OK....

Fantasy time.... I want to have all those South American beauty contest contestants fawning over me!

On a more serious note, just looking like everyone else in pictures, instead of the whale turning at an angle to minimize the pain, or using loved ones to hide my bulk behind.

Ron Jeremy?!?

You *do* realize that doesn't actually narrow things down much, of course. Aside from the fact that pretty much everyone could be a porn star (there are studios for pretty much anything and anyone), few porn stars have anything resembling .. technique. :crying:

Unfortunately, it looks like Buell has discontinued the Blast. That was an excellent commuter, and would handle an impromptu road trip between SF and Reno as well.

yeah I saw that as well.. But I also found I can get a decent price on a lightning model that is lightly used via craigslist and local classifieds.

*fingers crossed*

Good luck. I've a Low Rider, but I haven't ridden it much the past couple years, between moving from CA to WA (cutting the ridable year in half due to ice), carpooling, and my partner/primary-riding-buddy developing spondalosys (sp? basically, his spine grows spines into nerves.. don't want to tweak that while riding, don't we?). He's been thinking of selling his Thunderbolt. I'll be sad to see it go, and would rather see about getting him a replacement spine.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
