I had my first fill yesterday afternoon. What are the indictions that the fill is right? In other words, not too much and not too little. Right now I'm feeling hungry, however that could be because I am doing 2 days liquid, 2 days puree, then back to soft foods.

My Dr told me that it takes about 3 weeks to truly feel the affects of a fill and I find that to be true for me. You really cant tell while on fluids or even soft foods that just run through your band since no solid food is staying. I usually have 5 or so days of swelling to deal with then just wait to judge each meal/food before making a decision.

I started thinking that 1 Fill would do it for me. I think the average is 3 to 4 fills for each person. I know that with each fill i have, it seems to cut off the amount of food i can take in at a time.

During the last few weeks of each fill, you will notice that you can eat a little more than usual. I have been told that this is due to the fat that is between your stomach pouch and band. WHen you burn that fat, the band is sort of loose again, so that's why we get fills.. until we've lost most all that fat in that particular area, and the band is tight enough for our pleasure.

Once you have reached this point, this will be where you don't get a fill for a while. So, with each Fill, don't be scared that you're eating too much, or you're hungry. You will eventually get to that "Sweet Spot" as they call it eventually. Trust me, I was expecting results instantly.... it just takes time. :cursing:

Well, the first fill is seldom going to get you to your sweet spot....it's like the first step. As you get fills, you should find that you can go longer after eating before feeling hungry again, with the goal of being able to go 4 hours without hunger. I'm at 6cc in a 10cc band and I sure didn't get all that at once. It took 5 fills (and an unfill). I'm at my sweet spot now but I had to exercise a little patience in the mean time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
