BFP!! (with Male Factor and latent PCOS)

Recommended Posts

I am so excited to report that I got a BFP this morning (11 days past ovulation). It was totally shocking. I've had no symptoms other than feeling "wierd" and having a little nausea, which I attributed to just having a few "bad lapband" days (I usually feel a little queasy if I eat something that doesn't sit well).

I have that dreaded bitch, PCOS, but since being banded my cysts have gone away- Thank God! But my doctor cautioned that the underlying condition is always there so it might be more difficult for me to get pregnant anyway.

On top of my annoying ovary issues, hubby had low sperm counts (actually his counts were zero before he went to a urologist for treatment). His urologist had him on Clomid for 4 months to get his numbers up to normal. This was the first month we tried with his "normal" numbers and Boom!

We were (reluctantly) considering IVF in the Winter if we weren't preggers by then, which we really didn't want to do and definitely could not afford. We prayed about it, used the ClearPlan ovulation monitor, and Preseed. God is good!!!

Congratulations! That is wonderful! I am in the process of ttc#1 on clomid (2nd cycle) (100 mgs) and Ovidrel shot.

Hopefully I will be following your footsteps!!!

Congrats! I have PCOS as well, and losing weight boosted my ferterility. I was always told I wouldn't get pg without medical intervention... I guess getting banded is technically intervention, but not the types the Dr's probably expected. Congratulations!

Seeing the BFP was probably the most exciting thing.

Thanks for all the nice things you have said! We are excited but nervous for sure. I guess this has taught me to keep the faith and not to get discouraged or give up. Even facing the most insurmountable odds, great things can happen. Who ever thought that with God's help I'd be able to conquer my weight and infertility? I feel so blessed.

dewl- we haven't told anybody but very close family (parents and some siblings). We're waiting to tell the rest until after most of the danger period is over- probably around 8-10 weeks. I have my 6 week ultrasound next week!

Mrs. FlipFlops- yes, I'm paranoid so I still test. But it's great fun to finally see a testing stick I'm not angry at.

EJMdiva-- wow! You're in the homestretch. Keep us posted on your bundle!

NJSoldierswife-- baby dust and blessings to you and your DH. It will happen and sooner than you think!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
