Having My Brachioplasty and Inner Thigh Lift Next Friday

Recommended Posts

I'm really starting to get nervous now. My husband is in London finishing up his training and nobody will be in the hospital with me when I'm getting the procedure done. I will be spending at least five days in the hospital so I'll see him the next day.

I'm just really worried about how the healing is going to be. The doctor said that the arm tuck won't be so bad but it's the thigh lift that might bother me because whenever I sit down to use the toilet I'll be stretching the incision.

I also have nursing school that begins 2 months afterwards. I absolutely need to be back to normal by the time school starts because every other weekend I have clinicals where I am on my feet all day. I can't afford to not have my surgery (insurance covering for now) and I definitely don't want to screw over my performance in school.

Do you think 2 months is enough time to get back to normal?

Hi:

I don't have experience with the surgeries you are having. I had a full tummytuck 6 weeks ago and the only time I have pain is when I sneeze. I didn't get my energy back until about 4 weeks postop. You might want to check out the website www.makemeheal.com as there are alot more plastic surgery patients there.

Good luck.

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

Thanks for the reply Susan. I used to visit makemeheal a lot, but now that I'm using internet overseas I just can't get on that website any more. I think it's because my internet here is so slow.

I had a Tummy Tuck and inner thigh lift on May 7. To be honest with you, the recovery was very difficult. There is just no way to avoid putting stress on that area. I did have incisions open up, and from what I understand that is very common. However, at 6 weeks post-op I was back to work and back to the gym, including spin class. You should be fine for your return to school, just take it easy and be patient, healing in that area is a slow process.

Tracymom thank you so much for sharing your experience. Are you happy with how your thighs turned out? I am really looking forward to the surgery and finally being able to accept myself. :)

I am happy to know that you were recovered in six weeks, that gives me a lot of hope, thanks!

Hey, I just had brachiplasty and face lift on Tuesday. I am a nurse and plan to be off work for 6 wks. Should be totally healed by then but the inner thigh lift is generally more diff to heal from I understand. You are probably young so you should heal quicker also watch your Protein and Vitamin c and Iron intake. Those ave very important for healing. My arms a looking great. The face is very swollen. I would not advise anyone to be alone after a plastic proceedure. I am glad you are oging to be in the hospital for five days. I have had a wonderful sitter for two days, stayed overnight in the clinic. I have had great care, but don't let anyone kid you, it hurts.

Hi Panda

I'm getting nervous too. Am having brachio and inner thigh lift with vertical incision half way down thigh on Monday 6th in France.

Had an LBL there last year which was tough enough for a day or too but not so bad afterwards. My brachio is a re-do. First time round no Lipo was done so they are still bulky and the incisions were badly placed.

I too will stay in hospital for 5 nights and then I'll be alone in France until I come home - 11 days post -op.

I have to be back at work 3 weeks post -op so am hoiping for no complications. I'll be able to take it easy for a few weeks though. Hope all goes well for you.

Hi Ellen, unless you are going to be in the hosptal all the time you are there it might be good to hire a sitter when you are discharged. I hear the inner thigh lift is one of the worst surgeries. The brachioplasty is not that bad. You have had one so you are prob aware of it. I hired a sitter for 2 days after discharge and am keeping her during days this week. She takes me to doc, changes bandages, gives med, takes me shopping and sight seeing, does my laundry, cooks for me, runs errands, makes appointments and arrangements and is a very nice and intelligent knowledgable person who specializes in the care of patients who have plastic surgury. I am getting a real bargain and the first two days i needed her desperately due to pain and language issues. She understands more english than she speaks and i speak a good bit of spanish. She has been extremely helpful.

Good luck to you hon. I am sure you will do well.

Pandaluck,

I am still fairly swollen, so I am not sure what the end result will be, but for the most part they are looking pretty good. I also had him Lipo my knees while he was there so I am swollen from the knees up, but the chubs between my legs were gone immediately!

Good luck, you will do great.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
