I have kneecaps! I forgot I even had them since I had so much fat around my knee.

Anyone else discover a body part they didn't think they actually had?

Hi:

My collar bones showed up after many years of not seeing them.

Enjoy your knee caps!

I love my band and my new flat tummy!

Hi, I considering lap band surgery. Going to a seminar on June 29th. I'm a little afraid of the surgery. Looking for some support. Thanks!

I'm beginning to realize that I actually have slender shoulders. And I can feel my hip bone! Who Knew?!

Angel1955, welcome to lap band talk. There are lots of wonderful people here to talk to. Feel free to pm me with any concerns. I'm only four months out, and yes, I was scared, many of us were, so you're in good company. It's the best thing I've ever done!

Yes I have very bony shoulders too. When I lay down on the couch it hurts because I don't have no padding there no more. It's great! Hopefully i'll get a bony butt!

Hi Angel! Welcome to LBT. Good luck with your seminar. You won't be sorry! This was my 1st major surgery since I had my tonsils removed when I was 4 and it was no problem. Good luck with your journey hope it goes well for you!

As the months pass you'll notice more and more. I have shins now, ankles, a rib cage, collar bones, hip bones, a chin and tiny little wrists. None of my rings fit. They all fall off! My hands don't even look familiar. My shoe size has gone from a 7 to a 6. Being able to cross my legs again after years was my big milestone!

I now have a chin, narrow face, knee caps, shoulder blades, hip bones. I now love wearing tops that emphasize my shoulders & neck. My shoe size went from a 9.5/10 to an 8.5. I can now wear a size 6 ring. All my old rings are way too big (like 8's).This past winter I bought 2 pair of tall boots b/c my calves were finally small enough to zip them.

within the last week or so my son found my shoulder bones! I was rocking him before bed (he's three) and he actually moved off my shoulder to my chest because it hurt his head where he was laying on my shoulder. the next night he did it again and said it was "too bony" (quoting me from the night before)...who'da thunk it?

Crishell - I cannot wait to finally be able to buy a pair of tall boots and be able to zip them up!!! It's going to be a while because I have fat calves.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
