Recommended Posts

I was wondering if anybody has tried going back on liquids after surgery ...like 4 months out or so ....to jump start things.....just wondering what extent you took it to...and how it worked???

This takes me back....If I had been bad (eating wrong things) over a period of time, or was in the wrong frame of mind and perhaps put a bit of weight back on, I used to pretend I had just had surgery and went back to basics....and it worked every time. Gave me a new lease of life and the weight would drop off. Difference was that I had restriction whereas after surgery I didn't...so go for it....it really is a boost!!

I have been thinking of doing the same thing. I am six months out and lost 35 lbs. I have been going back and forth with just doing liquids for a week to get my head back on track. I think that would help a lot. Good luck with your weight loss.

HI, I am a little over 9months out since my banding. I love it!! I have lost 80lbs so far and I didnt even work out yet. So as the weight has pretty much come to a halt which should be expected, I am now working out and considering the liquid diet again to give me a boost. We will see how this works for me!! :cursing:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
