June exercise challenge

Recommended Posts

Another new month, another new exercse challenge.

After a weekend of softball and golf, I'm back on the path.

Ran 2.25 miles on the treadmill this morning as I didn't have time to get out and run on the path by the Mississippi and get on duty in time. Upper body and more cardio tonight.

Wow, slow start to the new month.:welldone2:

Hit the gym last night for upper body circuits and 35 minutes on the elliptical.

This morning was 2 miles along the river. For some reason, it SUCKED. I can't even claim it was a fast pace, 9 minute miles. I'm used to that.:frown: Oh well, sometimes we just have "those days".

This afternoon will be legs and elliptical again.

Monday is my planned rest day.

Tues. I did a BRIC workout at the gym for 1.5 hour in the morning and a Track workout at (duh) the track for 1 hour in the evening.

Tomorrow I have my first appointment with my personal trainer in the morning and a swim workout at night.

I'm not sure what I'm doing Thurs. because my son has to defend his senior thesis to graduate that evening so I can't do my normal workout.

lulu-I am just the opposite. I hate spin class, can't/won't do it anymore. I don't exactly love running, but I'll stick with it.

Madame-good luck with your sons thesis!:crying: Hope all goes well.

Did legs last night. No energy to do any more cardio. Ran 2 miles on treadmill this morning. No additional workouts today except for softball. But, that isn't exactly working out. That's alot of standing around pretending you're still in your glory days.

I love spin class! As for running, I have made my peace with it and that's probably the best it's going to be.

i use to say that the only way i would run, was if someone was chasing - that's back in my vocabulary.

i NEVER got the rush others have written about (sorry tmi ceradad)....my double d's no matter how strapped down w/my enell bra always were tender, never got my breathing right, and my toe nails constantly cracked - so it's off the cadio menu.

today -

surprise - spin class, 20 min walk on treadmill

I didn't do anything Thurs. but Mini-Mac and I went running Friday night and then Sat. I did run drills with my club (hill repeats. ugh.) and then went to the gym with Mini-Mac in the evening. We ran for another 15 min. and then played in the pool.

Today I did another triathlon and I completed it really fast. I think I'll have a MOP finish instead of my usual BOP finish!

And I did! 12 out of 24 in my age group, 204 out of 407 (who finished) overall.

Holy Crap! Where is everyone? I thought there would be at least a couple pages on here. Took a couple vac. days as DD was out of school and the Y program wasn't up and running yet. Then, last week I had SWAT school and didn't have time to think let alone log on.

Anyway, didn't get much done over the last week as far as being in the gym. But, I got my arse kicked around ALOT by Mpls PD SWAT.:):):) One of the worst and best weeks EVER!

Anyway, I'm back at it as of today. Ran 2 miles to get into the flow of it all. Tonight will be upper body and more cardio. Tomorrow, I'm running with bossman again.

Ok, looks like I'm on my own this month.

Last night I got my upper body circuits and 25 minutes on the elliptical in. This morning I just did 25 minutes on the elliptical as I am running with bossman later this morning.

Oh, and I forgot to mention yesterday, GREAT JOB Macmadame on the tri.:bored:

Just got back from the run with Bossman. Not sure how far we ran, but it was definately further than the last time (different route). I'm going to guestimate it of at least btwn 5.5 and 6 miles at least. I put it down as 5.5 on my autosig until I can measure it out.

Don't think legs workout is going to be done tonight, just too burnt out.

Edit: Went onto Active.com to the route planner area. Route measured out to just over 5.8 miles. Managed in just about 1 hr. So not bad. Bossman, of course, was toying with me the whole way.

When no one posts, the thread isn't high enough and I forget to post.

Monday - planned rest day

Tues - BRIC workout at gym in AM (Spin, Run, Core, but we had a sub and didn't do core today); track workout in the PM with the focus on form

I swing my arms too much and over-stride when I go faster than my normal pace. Need to work on that.

Tomorrow I have a session with my trainer in the AM. Normally I do a swim workout in the PM but I have my bariatric support group then so I may swim at lunch time or I may say "screw it." It depends on what is going on at work.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
