I was banded Feb 11, 09. I've lost 36 pounds since surgery. I feel like my weight loss is a little slow but it is steady. Lately I've been losing about a pound a week. Just had my second fill yesterday. My doc is extremely conservative with everything. I probaley have about 4 cc's total in my band. Can tell a little difference since yesterday, but difficult to truely tell yet because i'm on liquids right now. I'm working out about 5 days a week and I'm reallly working hard on this. I document every bite that goes in my mouth and I am determined to be successful. It has been more difficult than I thought it would though. All in all I feel much better and I am still happy with my decision.

I was banded Feb. 10, 09. I've had 4 fills and am now at 5.6ccs. If I'm not at my sweet spot, I'm very close! I have another fill scheduled for June 15, but I'm not certain I need it. Will wait until then to see.

Realistically, starting with my pre-op diet through now, I've lost 59 pounds. We'd all like to lose FAST but that's pretty darned fast if you think about it. And I know if I'd been dieting on my own, I would have long since falled off the wagon and gained it all back, LOL.

I'll admit that I don't journal, I walk as often as I can and if I did those things I'd probably lose a bit faster but I'm happy with how I'm doing...very happy!

I was banded on 2/11 and I've had one fill near the end of March (added 1cc bringing me up to 6cc's total) and I'm down 72 lbs.

I acheived one of my personal goals (lose 70 lbs by my July vacation) so now I'm working on my next personal goal of being under 300 lbs by my September vacation- only 13 more pounds to go for that one! Yay!)

My doc has taken me off of my acid-reflux medicine entirely, reduced my blood pressure medication by half and I'm waiting for the blood test to come back to see if he's going to reduce my diabetes medicine.

Overall I'm really happy with the decision, feeling great and satisfied with the money I spent and decision I've made!

I have had two fills and am up too 4.5cc. I thought I was at my sweet spot for a while but after losing the last five pounds I need a new one. I am going in on June 5 for my 3rd one.

I have been on a plateu for about three weeks now so I am looking forward to the jumpstart after this next fill.

Keep up the good work everyone!!!

hi! I was banded 2/16 and i've had 2 fills since. i've lost about 20lbs since banding. it's been going terribly slow, but i was kind of expecting that since I have PCOS. still, i can't help but be disappointed and frustrated. on the up side, i think my last fill has finally kicked in because i now have a bit more restriction and i've started losing again after several weeks of nothingness.

I was banded 2/19 I have lost 25 pounds to date. 11 of those are pre-banding. It has been very slow for me. I have 2.75 cc in a 8cc band. My first fill was 2cc and my second fill was .75 cc. I workout about 2-3x per week. I have not yet found my sweet spot. I am scheduled for another fill in 3 weeks. Hopefully, this one will do it. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I am eating 1500-1800 calories a day.

Hi everyone. I was banded on 2/23 and am down a total of 30 lbs. I have had 3 fills and am scheduled for my next appointment on 6/5 but am not sure if I need one. I get full pretty fast.

I admit I am still not making the best food choices, but I can not eat any where remotely clost to 1500 or 1800 calories a day.

I also struggle with getting the 70 grams of Protein per day. But am trying.

Having some hair loss, but taking Vitamins. I need to start exercising. I have increased my activity by doing more and just getting out in the world and housework, but I know that is not enough. So I need to start that.

I find the weight loss to be ok - but not steady at all. I can go for weeks without losing a pound.

I got discouraged yesterday when my mother asked me why the "band" was not working for me.

I mean I am down 30 pounds. Went in at 257 and am now at 227. from size 22 to size 18 - I guess she thought it would be faster as well.

I know I need to exercise and really make better food choices, but sometimes I can't help it..

Good luck to everyone and we all need to keep in touch and keep seeing how we are doing...

Let me know if you think i am losing at a good rate?

It’s been pretty great so far. Was banded on February 18 and have lost 60lbs so far. The first couple of weeks were tough with gas pain, but that passed soon enough. Got my first fill to 3.0cc April 1st, , second fill to 4.5cc on May 13th. The second fill was too tight so I had it dropped down to 3.7cc on May 22. I feel pretty good right now. Haven’t had a PB since the unfill and am able to get full on about 1 cup of food, I stay satisfied most times for about 4 hours. Still trying to learn not to take too much food at the start of a meal and when enough is enough.

I was banded 2/16. I have only dropped about 20 lbs. Not much restriction. My first fill was March 12th with 3 ccs and no restriction. I just went in for my second fill today. I have a lapband that holds 14 ccs. They think my sweet spot will be around 9-11ccs. I am also one that doesn't lose anything unless calories are really low...like 900. Yes, I know what you are thinking, trust me the docs all my life say and think the same thing but they have witnessed that weight loss doesn't happen unless they are that low. Keep in mind, my anorexic looking bro, sis, gma, aunts, etc eat lots trying to gain weight and the other side of us look like we feed ourselves ding dongs and ho hos even thought we are the ones eating salads twice a day and its the anorexic ones eating the junk trying to gain weight. So frustrating! This is why I hope the band works for me. Its just a slow loss because I only lose weight if I am doing the liquid diet. Anyhow, I am now walking 1.5 hours a night, down a steep hill for the first 20 minutes and the rest of the time is a constant incline allowing a good sweat. I am doing great on protein- salmon and talipia mostly. I have gone from a merging into a 24 into a 20. I just bought 22s a couple weeks ago and they are already baggy. When I weighed in today, my numbers were up by 2 but I told her I have gone down in clothes so I am gaining good muscle. Even though you know it, you still want the scale to show a lower number, but it will happen in time. I will have another fill in early July and another in August, hopefully that will be my sweet spot. We will see!

feb 16th here...i cannot express how much i love my band, i really feel like one of the luckiest people in the world to have this weight "security guard" implanted in me. i have gotten my life back. i have only lost about 28 pounds so far but have gained a huge amount of energy and self esteem. i have about 50lbs to go. i feel disappointed in myself because i still eat bad food but i have so much restriction already w/2cc in a 10cc band that i know i can reach my goal.

i am working out 5 days a week and have gone from size 18 to a 12-14. good luck all, and keep me updated. i love to hear everyones success stories.

I was banded 2/3/09 and I have lost 53lb so far. I am now able to wear 20-22 down from a very tight 26. I feel so much better and I have a lot more energy. I really had a lot of knee pain before surgery and now I have hardly any. I still need to have my knee replaced, but I have bought myself some more time with the weight loss. Getting my lap-band was the best decision I have ever made. I still have another 100lbs to loose, but I feel this time I can actually get there!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
