and may bandsters banded in Tijuana?

Recommended Posts

For anyone banded in tJ is it as scary of a town as people try to make it out to be? If I dont want to I dont have to leave the hospital. But they do say that the day after I can walk around Tijuana if I desire. Im pretty sure that I will stay in the hospital and hotel and not jurney out...but just wanted to know what others thought about it if they were there to be banded! oh and congrats to all the may banditos that have already been banded!:wink2:

I was banded on Friday the 22nd... stayed the night at the clinic till Saturday. Then later that day, 4 of us patients and 2 of our chaperones, aka friends all ventured out. We took a cab ride to Revolucion street. BTW... the cab system is NOT one cab per person, they just keep picking up people. A van pulled over with 2 people in it and the 6 of us joined them. It only cost us a $1/per person to go to Revolucion Street.

We walked all afternoon. Had Soup at some restaraunt and did some souvenier shopping. I wouldn't recommend going out at night, but during the day, it was quite nice and none of us felt scared/threatened.

We did see quite a few police cars and some with their weapons in PLAIN SIGHT! But for the most part, it was quite pleasant. Ane everyone from the clinic and hotel staff were excellent!

It definitely is hyped WAY more than it actually is!

Good luck!

Thank you for the info. It helps to hear it from someone who has been there recently! So you did feel well enough to journey out? I find that as time gets closer and closer its all I think about. Im not scared just excited and nervous about starting my new life. Mainly its going to be hard to be away from my 3 kids and thats the part I get really nervous about...but they will be fine...I just hate leaving them. well thank you again for the info...oh anything you would recomend me bring that would help?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
