Ok heres my back story. I got banded jan of 2008 lost 80lbs did really well had to get unfilled cause the doc thaught it slipped then insurance decided not to cover me getting filled anymore so i gained back 60lbs before i had enough money and fill to be full. So now i have a pretty good fill am eating between 1000 and 1500 calories a day and am excercising for 4 or 5 days a week for atleast an hour. And in the first week back to the gym i lost 6lbs and nothing since. So what do i do now just wait and hope it falls off?

So, you lost 6 pounds the first week, but how long ago was that? If it's been a couple of weeks I'd say don't worry about it and keep up what you're doing. If it's been months, then maybe you need to track your food and exercise to make sure you're doing what you THINK you're doing.

I know from my experience that I lose great for a week or so, then hold for a couple of weeks, then lose again.

Good luck to you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
