I got my first fill yesterday. The surgeon told me he put in 4 ccs. I can't tell if I really feel anything yet or not. I was only liquids only yesterday and I haven't really eaten enough yet today to see if I have any actual restriction. I do feel something, though. We'll see.

I had my first fill yesterday as well  He tried to put 3cc in but the Water he gave me got "stuck" and I had some pain so he took out some and I ended up with 2cc in. I felt quite "tight" for a few hours after but Im not feeling tight as of right now. Definitely noticed a difference when Im trying to drink, I was only able to drink about 6 oz of my Protein shake this morning and I was stuffed.

I plateud for about a week and a half and didnt lose anything, but I got on the scale and lost 3 lbs after he filled me ! Guess they were right....once you start getting yer fills you see a loss !

i had my first fill yesterday too... the Dr. put 4 CC's and I immediately felt restriction. It wasnt a bad feeling, but its definitely different.

I am able to eat regular food but I have to eat it a LOT sloooowwwwwer because of the pressure I feel in my chest and around my band area.

I know last night I felt hungry even after eating dinner, but it felt tighter so i stopped eating. We'll see how it goes today. Im working on a Protein shake and am not feeling anything restricting it---yes I understand its a liquid and will go right through, but there is nothing different about it from before the fill and now after.

We'll see when I try and eat my lunch (chicken noodle soup) and see if I find myself more restricted.

You probably won't feel much restriction at this point. My 1st fill was 4cc's and while I got fuller a little faster I really didn't have much restriction. I have 6cc's now and while I definitely have a bit more restriction it's still not much.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
