Things I never thought I would say

Recommended Posts

Took my old suits to my tailor and was almost able to wrap them around my entire body. The tailor laughed and said there was nothing that he could do with them. Lately I think that I am going to have to join shopaholics anonymous instead of over-eaters anonymous. I love being able to shop in the normal people section and so does Visa.

That is great. I hate shopping, but I like to be able to be in any store and know that if I see something I like. I know for sure they will have it in my size. I also won't have to pay even more for the XXXL size either.

I never thought I would say, wow 174LBS later...currently at 196LBS...goal at 190..I wanna loose more;) I think its possible for me to get to 180 or 175. I am wearing medium shirts, I am in 34/36 pants (so much excess skin I have to go wtih the 36 most of the time) I never thought I would be able to ride an amusement park ride again. Hell, I didn't think I would ever get laid again! The lapband saved my life...didn't think I would say that either, I thought it would be good, but it saved my life.

In 34" waist and 15 1/2 shirts. That's what I wore when I was 18!

Doctor told me last week that she didn't want me to lose anymore weight-I haven't heard a doctor tell me that anytime in my adult life. So I guess I've reached goal.

I still can't get used to people calling me slim. I think it's going to take a long time for me to learn to see myself the way I am now.

Mine stil does to hold up the pants that are to big........

Yeah, but holding pants up is a holiday compared to the real work of keeping me contained (and protecting the clothes from shredding) LOL  Still a ways to go, but much more comfortable in my clothes, and fitting into some that had been hanging on the side of the wardrobe that catered to the clothes that had shrunken over time... another LOL

This weekend I found myself saying things I never thought I would say:

Sat

Wow, I think these 34w pants are loose.

Sunday at the mall

Maybe I should try a Medium

On the treadmill yesterday:

Damn, I have missed running

Anyone care to add any?

I only want to add that I just discovered this section of the forum having recently only scrolled down this far. In one of the other sections I mentioned giving up my "man card" for looking forward to going to the mall to buy 36 waist pants and an Large shirt vs 42 and XXL. Now off to read other threads.

I understand last weekend I went through "the other side of the closet" and the closet in the spare bedroom and drag out clothes I hadn't been able to wear. It wasn't a new wardrobe but it allowed me to retire some of the clothes that were way to big. By the way guys watch the stores for fatehr days sales should be good bargins on clothes.

I said the other day at Logan's - "...a booth is fine..."

Points for that one My wife and I have lost a lot and now can use a booth.

On another note I recently heard a report that one thing former Fed Chairman Greenspan use to look at was Men's underwear sales because men will do without longer in tough times. It made me realize I need to buy ones that fit better, but I'm afraid of sening out false signals that the economy is getting better.

That is great. I hate shopping, =.

I use to say I hate to shop, but actually I just hate to clothes shop with my wife. (She is great in every other way) Actually I love to shop my way, get in, find it, get out.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
