I started seeing one when I decided to have the surgery. It took 14 months of waiting to get the surgery (many insurance snafus) then I've continued to see her ever since.

All kinds of things pop up with this from how I feel about myself, how other see me, etc. And she's been very helpful.

I honestly feel she's done as much for my success as the surgeon who placed my band.

I understand about the foods other family members keep,or want, but you cant make a decision for your husband to lose weight, weight loss is a very personal decision and will only happen when he is ready to do it. So if I may offer a bit of advice, be very careful about trying to put him on your diet. Overall, as a family we are making better food choices because of what I cook, but I still have to be mindful that my husband and son are not getting banded and have not made the decision to lose weight. If I try to force this on them they will likely revolt and that is not the way to gain cooperation.

I am lucky that we have some really nice Goodwill stores in our area. I am hoping to donate my old clothes and shop in their store until I get to my ideal weight. To me its a great way to help the community and to dress nice as my size transitions. They have such cute things! I won't have any problem dressing nice for cheap. I sure hope my feet lose weight! I would LOVE to get into some cute shoes again! Now those I buy new...I just can't wear someone elses shoes...just a thing with me!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
