I had my first fill. It was all I thought it would be...lol. I have a 12cc band and it was filled to 3cc. I can tell a restriction now that I did not have before. I have lost a total of 30 pounds since surgery and 30 before. So a total of 50!!! YEAH!!! I am hoping that the fill with help keep me on track, I can tell more now than before when I need to stop. I do miss drinking as much Water as I want when I want...that is the most I miss. Hubby & I have started taking Tae Kwon Do classes with our son...we love it, and it is an awesome workout!!!!

I had my first fill too! Thursday 5/14/09... it was interesting... I could actually feel the band getting tighter. It was very similar to the feeling I had the first few days after surgery.. I can totally tell a difference now... I stay full longer... I was really just hanging in there by sheer willpower for the last week and a half.

You guys are sooooooooooooo lucky. I had my first fill last Monday, and I feel nothing at all. Still able to eat whatever I want. I called this morning, and I am going back in today for second fill. Hoping this gives me at least a little restricition. Best of Luck to all!!

I literally had my 1st fill about 1 hour ago- I have had 8 oz of v8 juice and feel nothing! Don't know what to expect or actually what I was expecting- hopefully in 2 days when I can eat again- I will feel some restriction....

How long do most docs wait in between fills? I'm scheduled for my first fill on June 4th and wonder when I might get the 2nd fill, especially if I don't feel any restriction.

I have been lucky. My surgeon did my second fill yesterday and my first one was only a week ago. I have a 10cc band and it has been filled 4cc so far. He told me the next couple of fills will be 1 cc and then he will go to 1/2cc if need be. I feel a little more restriction from the first, but don't think I have reached my "sweet spot" yet. I am excited to get there. My third fill is scheduled for the 15th of June. My surgeon also said that he has never had to fill anyone with my size band more than 7.5cc, so I am excited about that too! Best of Luck to US all!!!

I got my first fill this morning. My Doc put in 3.4cc in my 10cc band and I can definitely feel the restriction. I had my shake after my fill and it took me longer to drink it than it did before i got my fill. I'm now back to tiny sips. He also suggested drinking my broth a spoon full at a time.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
