Have you checked your blood sugar? If it's low, that can happen. I'm not diabetic, but this happened to me once in Wal-Mart and I got very scared. When I went to my mom's, she checked me with her glucometer and that's what the problem was. If you know anyone who's diabetic, I'm sure they'll have no problem checking it for ya!

I agree, though... going to the doc is the safest way to go.

That would be true if it was not just happening when she bends, lays or looks down, blood sugar usually will affect you regardless of what you are doing. It is a nastly little problem that affects all of your senses, 100% of the time if it is too low.

I was having a very similar experience. several weeks after being banded, but I don't believe it was related at all, I had vertigo, not the lightheadedness like I was gonna faint, but the room would spin terribly if I looked up, bent over, or layed down. I went to the doc after several days of it, and I had Fluid in one ear and terrible sinus. I was told to take claritin, sudafed, and he perscribed a seroid nasal spray. Still took three weeks to go away, and it was a miserable three weeks! I was sleeping in my recliner because I couldn't lay down, and was waking up from a sound sleep to the room spinning!

Still like everyone said, see your doc to be sure!

I'm experiencing this same thing. I have vertigo, but it normally goes away after a day or two. Just assumed it was my vertigo... now you've got me thinking. I haven't asked my doctor's office yet. Guess I should. Keep me posted on what you find out.

I had the same problem after surgery. My trainer thought it was blood sugar related also and suggested Gatorade when it hit me. I don’t think it did, just taking a few minutes to recover did. I am 8 mos post-op now and have no problems with it anymore. I think it was some kind of body adjustment to surgery or calorie reduction. Good luck with it!

I have that problem if I get up too fast. I'm still on blood pressure medicine because the doctor is phasing it out. I'm off two meds and at a half dose for another month of the last one. My BP the last month hasn't gone above 110/70 and on occasion has been 90/60.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
