I have been trying to figure out my "new stomach" since my last fill, but I can't understand it.

I don't know how much was in my band the day of surgery, but last month they put in .6cc's.

Depending on what kind of food it is, like Soup, I get full quick. But on other food's like sandwich's or pizza (I caved this week for pizza  ), I can eat.....forever, until I stop myself. But I just won't feel full.

I thought to myself that it should be opposite. Like soup would kind of just go right through, while carbs would take a while to travel through the band.

Is anybody else feeling the same way? Or is there anybody that might possibly be able to explain to me whats going on?

Also....

I get hungry really quick after eating. Maybe like 1 hr and 30 minutes later...

Is that normal?

Thanks for your help

Kayla

I can say that tonight I ate two slices of pizza and a small scoop of ice cream and I only stopped because I knew I should, not because I was full. But last week, I couldn't even hold more than two bites of scrambled eggs down. I'm confused too - wish I had a good answer!!

I have no idea - but I have the same problem!! Maybe its to do with the speed we are eating - remember it takes 20mins to feel full - so maybe we are eating too fast?

remember to always measure your food....over eating can cause your pouch to stretch.....if you are feeling full. you ate too much....just measure your meals eat it slowly and stop....remember it takes your brain about 20 mins after you eat to realize your full....good luck.

Hey remember the bad food ALWAYS goes down without any issues. Such as chocolate, ice cream etc. So don't be misguided. Unlike the GBypass that are unable to eat sweet items due to dumping, us bandsters have to just stay away mentally. Cause Our body will not treat us that way. It will take some restrain. I try to live by the rule, if I have to pick it up with my fingers, such as a hamburger, sandwich, pizza and things like this, tacos, enchiladas. It is a BIG NO-NO. I will pay for it on the scale. No hiding the bad food choices. And once you are really restricted good - in green zone. These items will cause you some very unpleaseant grief in the tummy (possibly hours). So the sooner you get used to eating everything with a "tiny" fork and not your hands the better off you will be in the long run. Don't get used to eating around your band. The band is around your tummy not your lips....

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
