Good Mornink'

How is everyone this lovely morning. I'm just sipping my graham cracker flavored coffee watching the disney channel (well not really watching it, dd is) wiggly town hero's LOL. Disney has a great channel, I know I can leave it on and not worry about what commercials or shows my DD is going to see.

With all the running around I've been doing for my sister who's in the hospital I think I'm going to take the day off today lol. I have so much house work and laundry to do but knowing me, and knowing how it is being in the hospital for many days, I'll probably do another run and go see her. I got home at 8:30 last night.

Around 7 pm last night, I was traveling home going west where route 4, 17 and 208, just past the garden state plaza all seem to come together, there was a wicked lighening storm. I've never seen lightening hit to things one after the other right in front of my eyes, I mean about 300 yards. It struck the transformers on two bridges as we were just about to go under them. Cars stopped dead on the highway b/c people were afraid to go under the bridge, like it was going to either strike us or the bridge would fall. I had my sisters kids with me and I was just taking them home from seeing their mom. Boy did they scream and cry. My stomach was in my throat but I didn't panic. I weaved in and out of the panicky drivers and just kept going. I gotta say, I did almost poop in my pants. It was very scary. The transformers blew up, BANG !! then fire and smoke...Hope I never see lightening hit anything again... SCARY SHEEEEAT!!!

Today is laundry, tidy house, food shopping and cooking dinners for the week.

Watcha all doing?

After the fill friday, I was told to have liquids only until Monday (today). I don't think I could really eat anything right now if I wanted to. I have been satisfied with the liquids only and am not hungry at all. If I go by the evil bathroom scale, I have lost 3 1/2 lbs just in the last 3 days. I will check for real at the gym later.

Good Morning Kiddies :)

How's everyone today. Its a beautiful day, cool and crisp :D

Welcome Steve !!!

Ira, thats great 3 1/2 lbs. You really should stick to one scale because its going to drive you nuts going from one to another and wondering which one is right. Put a 5 lb bag of flour on your scale and see if its right.

I'm home today, still running to the hospital for my Sister and running the kids to school.

Have a wonderful day !!!

Morning All. Nothing Crisp, here... Somebody forgot to tell Texas that Summer is Over... Sheesh! It's HOT here.

Great job, Ira! Happy Day! Even if there is scale variation, you are still moving in the right direction. I will try to contain my envy that you already have a band!

Miss Eileen, how's your Sis? Any word from your insurance co? I will be calling mine again to be SURE that this time they have received the file...

Y'all have a great day!

Hiya Beanie,

Its warm outside now lol, but this morning was beautiful. I'm home today, got DD and myself coughing and sniffly...allergies :D but its back to work tomorrow.

My sister gets a catscan today to see if they are going to operate, hopefully they won't see any perforations in the intestins so we are crossing our fingers. I'll go visit her later today.

I am going to call the surgeons office this week to see if the insurance company giave them the go ahead. If they didn't, I'll just have to put on my brass bra and wonder-woman cape and start kicking some insurance butt !!!! lolol :) Wish THEM luck LOL.

Bet your all thinking WOW, she's a B*tch.... nope, quite the opposite, I'm really a mealy mouse when it comes to confrontation lol.

Watcha up to today Beanie ol girl ?

Well I gotta get dressed, its almost noon and I have errands to run... later taters !!

Why is everyone so quiet?

Good Morning :)

How's my little chickadee's today?

Ira do you want a slap? LOL... no seriously, call the doctor he is back from italy. How many calories do you think your eating ? if you feel like you can eat, then just up your calories but I suspect your body will level off and you'll lose slower.

Now, are you talking to Mr. Noodle's brother Mr. Noodle because you know he's dead. Poor thing.

Beanie I have to listen to that link when I get home, my boss is here and well, if he catches me goofing off, I don't think he'll be happy LOLOL GRRRR !!! I did watch it with the sound off but it just didn't do it.

Its a beautiful day out, skys are blue and warm.

Whats shakin with you ?

Hey Ira.

Thanks for having us in Ira's World.

Are you able to eat regular food? Are you experiencing a high level of PB's?

Are you having any major discomfort?

If the answer is no, then I THINK you are fine. 6 lbs in 5 days is quick - but not going to cause illness or anything - and the likelihood is that it will not continue at such a dramatic pace for very long.

I say, if it aint hurtin' - kick back and enjoy.

Eileen - the sound makes ALL the difference. You must try this at home...

It's another Glorious Texas day. The sun is shining, the pavement is melting...

:]

Thanks for the kind words Rene, the answer to everything is no. I guess, I wasn't really expecting this kind of reaction. I still am not hungry at all. Wow this is great.

Great news, the FDA approved Inamed's breast implant today!

Are you going to be affected by Rita in your area?

I am North of Dallas in Allen TX. There is some speculation that we might experience the edges of the storm - like Category 1 effects - but nothing like what the folks on the gulf are going to get.

We'll just hunker down in front of the DVD player and eat popcorn.< /p>

Glad to hear there are no nasty side effects, Ira. Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy! That 6lb effect is what ever bandster dreams of...

I haven't been keeping track of Inameds other body enhancements - and breast implants have certainly NEVER crossed my mind. (yes, behind these huge bazongas I actually have a mind).

Is there something special or different about them? I guess I can go to the website and check them out, if I run out of things to do today...

Everybody enjoy the day.

I.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
