I sent her a PM - she says she works as a teacher at a make-up school and that she will be banded in in September.

It seems her intentions are good.

I advised her to go to Introductions and do a proper post of who she is and why she has blasted every thread with her advert.

Maybe I am just a big softie - but let's give her the benefit of the doubt.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and puts down the other ducks just a little too much - even gullible ol' me says:

"Hey - it must be a Duck".

I'm thinking Jaxson must be getting something out of all this - aside from our ire.

Some things to remember about being a member of LBT.

When we all joined, there are rules and guidelines we all agreed to follow. One of them is to show respect for other members. This thread alone is going against that guideline. Everyone has a right to express their opinion. Everyone has a right to either agree or disagree with that opinion but NO ONE has a right to resort to name calling.

On LBT everyone is entitled to their opinion on any particular doctor good, bad or otherwise. Where the line is drawn is when it becomes an advertisement for that doctor.

There have been several posts with this type of wording and LBT is not the place to advertise for one specific doctor, group, or entity PERIOD!

This website will not be used as an advertisement tool for or against a specific, doctor, group, entity, surgery, etc.

There is nothing wrong with supporting, reporting, or suggesting using a particular doctor, group, entity, etc. When you list the prices that is where it gets dicey not only for LBT but for the doctor. In the future just make a suggestion of contacting them directly to get pricing.

Dear Penni and anyone else who was offended by my offer. This letter was originally meant for Kathy, but it applies to anyone to whom I should apologize:

Thanks so much for your reply and comments but you are under several misconceptions:

1. The e-mail in question was not an advertisement, but rather an offer to help. In the surgical suites where I usually practice I charge several thousand dollars (up to $7,000) for a scar repair. I was only going to charge Banding patients between $100 and $200 total, depending on the size and number scars. I was not going to charge any fee for travel within the continental United States, as we own our own plane and simply love to fly it.

3. Obviously from the following sentences and from the information given in item #1 it should be clear that this was not a get-rich-quick scheme. My late husband was a very successful plastic surgeon, I have made a substantial fortune in land investment, another in land development, and another in investing the rather large insurance policy that was left to me from my late husband. Doing TV commercials didn’t hurt my finances, either. I also teach medical micropigmentation at famous school where, because I am one of a very few medical micropigmentation specialists, I am paid quite a hefty salary. I have been very fortunate in life and this simply was my attempt to share some of that good fortune by doing a service for others. (This is not to brag, but rather to enforce the point that I was making what I thought was a magnanimous offer, not a money play.)

4. I was asked only once not to send the message which offended you. I stopped immediately and sent an apology which explained the following: I’m not a computer wiz by any standards. I really don’t know how e-mail works; frankly it’s a miracle to me. I was under the impression that a message had to be sent to each facet or category of the discussion area in order for everyone to receive it. I had no idea that it was being posted all over the place repeatedly. I agree with you completely: it would irritate me to no end to find a message repeated a zillion times…By the way, I certainly have better things to do with my time than to sit here and send the same thing to the same place again and again. I just thought the only way to contact everyone was to send it everywhere; makes sense to me, but then I have no clue about e-mail.

6. Your last paragraph read, “You aren't doing yourself any benefit by using this advertisement….etc.” I reiterate once again that at the miniscule price I was going to charge compared to my usual fees, the favor wasn’t being done for myself, but rather, it was my intent to offer a benefit to people who have come such a long way and made such huge steps towards self improvement. Revision of the surgical scar would simply be the final rose to make a beautiful dozen.

5. Good for you! Provo: someone who still knows the proper use of grammar in the English language. It must drive you crazy to listen to TV commercials where English grammar is being brutally sabotaged: less calories rather than fewer; misuse of the words good and well, no clue as to when like is used instead of as…but my all-time favorite is the misuse of are and is. Even talk show hosts and news commentators often speak as if they’ve only received a fourth grade education. Please refer to item #7 below.

7. As far as you comment in the last paragraph about an inability to compose a paragraph, I refer you to the text herein and to the many messages found all over the internet. If you check most of the posts, you’ll find all sorts of misspelled words, dangling modifiers, misused capital letters, poor grammar, and misplaced punctuation. Perhaps I should have typed everything on the regular computer first and then e-mailed second, but that never occurred to me, as this was just a good faith offer that popped into my mind and I just sort of jotted it down.

I am having ALB surgery at the end of this month and can hardly wait. I am so incredibly excited about it that perhaps I made an offer that was unappreciated……Oh well, I’ll do my own scars.

Thanks again for your input, and I’m sorry for any anxiety my offer may have caused anyone.

OMG, Me? Kathy? Surely not...do my scars look THAT awful?!! Just kidding. I don't know if it was originally for me but I'm glad to know someone out there is as computer illiterate as I am. I havent' read your entire message due to time constraints. I was just wondering if I was the Kathy you meant?

Anyhow, thanks for the reply Deena. Man, it went everywhere. Did say everywhere???!!!

No, Kathy, not you. Different Kathy. I really am so sorry for the inconvenience my message caused. It certainly wasn't meant as an infomercial! Heck, I don't even know what a "thread" is, unless it's unraveling from my hem!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
