Don't be nervous! Everything will be fine. I was banded August 28, 2008. Protein Shakes will become your best friend. I drink at least 2 a day plus a protien shot before I work out.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm getting banded on the 29th! I've been on a liquid diet going on 4 weeks now! I'm sooo ready to eat something. Even though the surgery is coming I won't be able to eat solid foods until 7 weeks out! June first is my 1st fill. I wish you luck and that all goes well! :)

I drink "whey Protein isolate" One scoop to 8oz of skim milk per my dietician at the surgery center. Nothing seems filling though. I just thing I'm a spoiled bratt and used to eating way to much. My surgery date is 5-4.

Hi there Erika

Welcome and congrats on your date. Wishing you all the very best for Monday!!

I was banded on the 23rd April and am doing ok (touch wood!). Hope your recovery is as event-free as mine has been so far. Feeling a lot better now that I can have full fluids (milk, yoghurt, Protein Drinks, smoothies, pureed Soups, etc).

There's a forum for all the April bandster's HERE - in case you'd like to share experiences with others of us being banded at around the same time. It's a wonderful place for support.

Also, you've been added to the list of April bandsters HERE.

Hi

I am being banded 4/27 also! I can't believe it's tomorrow. I am nervous and also a little tired of Optifast diet. I am glad to read that so many are recovering well.

Will post again after the surgery

hi

Three days post band (4/27) and I am doing well. I am able to eat small amounts of pureed foods and am doing some walking. I was lucky, did not have to stay overnight in the hospital. The only issue I still have is that sleeping on my side hurts and I cannot sleep on my back. Glad all the other bandsters from this week are also doing well.

How do you get the tickerfactory object to attach to the bottom of your message?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
