I have a suggestion for a good snack that curbs hunger for me. I buy different flavors of soynuts, break them down into 1/3 cup (140 cal) snack pack servings. I keep them in my purse and they really do fill me up and hold me over. Does not seem to be a "slider" snack at all. I truly feel full.

Mine is those stupid bottled Frappacino's and a snickers while I'm out running errands. If I go to either the grocery store or a gas station, I mindlessly grab that. I'm trying to make sure I take the spouse with me to stop me, but she can't always be there.

lol BgBp, why does there have to be such good food out there?

Those Dunkin lattes are my downfall and the ice coffee, but I resisted today and made my own ice coffee with fat free half & half and tiny bit of Hershey syrup!

Even when thin (if I get there), I know this is something that I know I have to deal with every day, though some days better than others. :glare:

To those wanting to eat everything in site when they get home, I would suggest eating a Protein Bar on the way home...Getting that Protein in will give you some energy and a senes of fullness...so when you do get home your not eating the refrigerator

Rmann,

Thanks for reminding me about the protien bars. Sometimes I forget about those. They do help.

Something I like also is a caramel rice cake with Peanut Butter. They are really yummy. You would think that would choke me, but it does not. lol.

:tt2:

I have Protein Bars at my desk, so I don't feel guilty for an afternoon snack (and the chocolate chip granola ones feel like candy), but for me its...EATING IN THE CAR! Cheese-its (they seem to be popular to all in this thread) or those Ritz toasted crackers like sour cream/onion or cheddar...and sitting at my computer at home...the m&m jar is next to it...so I try hard to just have 2-3, but sometimes it's 2-3 handfulls... meals I'm ok with, and do a Protein Drink in the afternoon.

NfL1,

Isn't it true about the meals, I have nooo problem whatsoever now with eating healthy meals, it's the darn snack monster!

I have said goodbye to those high carolie subs, pizza, etc. but the sweets still call out to me. :grouphug:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
