Scared....Am I eating to much?

Recommended Posts

My Dr. said to eat 3 to 4 small meals (3-4 ounces each) per day. I really didn't want to put all of my food in a measuring cup, and I certainly didn't want to overeat, so I went shopping. I found a cute little plate in a kitchen store. It's about 4 inches square and has a lip on it. I found it in the Asian section, near the Asian teapots and the Sushi dishes. I asked the guy who owns the store to test how many ounces it holds. It holds EXACTLY 4 ounces. So. . . I just load my cute little plate with 70% Protein & 30% whatever else and know that I am eating the right amount. I love it so much I'm going to buy two more so I have one at home, one at work, and one in the car, so I'm never without. Just an idea that has helped me stay on track until I get a fill or two.

I am so glad you posted this! Thank you!

I was banded 2nd April and I can eat anything - even bread!! I am still trying to eat mushy-ish things so that doesn't help I guess. Going for my 1mth f/up on the 5th I think, so hopefully I get a fill. I am starting to wonder if they have put a band in there!? Feels like nothing has changed!!!!!!! WHAT IF THIS DOESNT WORK!!!

I don't see how you could be eating to much, You had your surgery a week after me, and you've lost lot of weight. I wouldn't worry so much. My doctor said to eat 6 to 8 oz I think I would be hungery all the time if I only ate 4 oz at each meal. I like the idea of the plate you found. Were did you find it? That would certainly help with making sure I don't over eat. Keep in touch

I was banded on 4/22/09 and I have the same exact issues! I am on pureed right now, and following the post-op plan to the letter, but i am so hungry sometimes!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
