can anyone tolerate chicken?

Recommended Posts

chicken is one of my big problem foods. The majority of the time that I've vomited, it's been because of chicken.

I can eat chicken that is freshly cooked and very moist (I love the chicken at Qdoba -- goes down with no problems whatsoever).

If I eat one-half of a piece of chicken, I cannot save the rest for tomorrow's meal. It dries it out too quickly no matter how it's prepared. So I'm fine with freshly cooked, moist chicken, but no dry chicken or reheated leftover chicken of any type.

I have not had any problems with chicken from the very beginning. But the crockpot is probably your best bet. I love the crockpot because it keeps the moisture. Good Luck.

Hello Jennifer, I have the same problem with chicken. :) I have found that if I cook it in a crockpot with chicken stock it is super moist and I can tolerate it a lot better. Beef is another problem for me. Any suggestions?

Gail

as far as beef goes i tolerate pot roast the best of all. i've been making almost once a week . its worked out really since my kids love and dont mind having it regularly either.

How ironic I saw this post. I so thought it was just me. I can tolerate almost anything, soda, bread, but chicken, any kind, does me in. I'm stuck as I type this from a bite of KFC. I have tried crockpot, rotisserrie, breasts, thigh, you name it. I have come to the conclusion to just avaoid chicken.:cool2: I can't handle it.

After living mith my band for over 2 years I have found that chicken is actually one of the dependable meats for me (along with fish) However, I quit eating chicken breasts a ~long~ time ago...almost guarenteed, regardless of how it was cooked, I ended up stuck. I only eat thighs and can handle them cooked almost any way. To be honest, I still find one of the quickest, simplest ways to cook it is good old shake 'N Bake. Bone-in, skin on...always stays moist. 99% of the time I pull the skin off....but dang it, every now and then when it's good and crispy....yummy !!!

And I find it a little odd....I was a mostly red meat eater before banding, and I've never really had any problems with it, but it really just does not appeal to me anymore. I cook hubby a steak and find myelf a piece of fish instead.

Btw....pork is the meat that I have the hardest time with, bar none.

chicken along with ground turkey is my staple food. I have no problem with it going down but I chew, chew, chew. However, red meat just gives me this awful stomach ache. I can get it down fine but feel like crap later. The band is a very strange creature.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
