Where are our kids learning this stuff?!?

Recommended Posts

So yesterday im out shopping with my 6 year old daughter. We are looking at clothes and I pick up a swimsuit top to look at. This is how the conversation went after that:

Daughter "Mom, you dont need that. Its for S"

Me "What's S?"

Daughter "You know....S. The S word"

Me "What S word? You can tell me."

Daughter "Its for sex. You dont need that"

I was shocked. I informed her it was a swimsuit and not lingerie (sp?). Im just wondering where she got that from. I dont think a 6 year old should know anything about sex.

She was right though. I have no need for any lingerie. Sadly...

What have your kids said that shocked you?

My six year old daughter is full on into the "i'm in love with so and so and we kissed" (not that she really has) stuff now. Its all going on at school - I dont think she'd make the connection between lingerie and sex though, despite having seen plenty of it on TV.

As for my older kids, I'm a little gobsmacked by how much they know and we've never had "the talk". They wont engage on the subject which I find frustrating as they could have wrong information and almost certainly dont know as much as they think they do.

Its not so different from when I was growing up though. I knew all about sex before my parents sat me down.

I remember "having sex" with my babysitter's grandson. I was, I think, 5 and he was a little older. He just laid on top of me for a few minutes....Not unlike some sex partners I've had as an adult!

Thanks for describing my technique for all the world to see, Glouc.

My oldest son had a knack for putting together random words together and trying to make me laugh (because it always sounded like it could be lyrics to any "Beck" song). So once in Wal-Mart (the social and economic hub in the town I live in) we were strolling down an aisle and this was the result:

Ryan - Knock, knock.

Me- Who's there?

Ryan- Flaming cock......

Needless to say, I just lost it and started laughing incredibly hard. My wife was mortified (I think more by the spectacle of me doubled over laughing with tears a-flowing than what he said).

LMAO! I love kids.

My friend's son was 2 when they were flying back from Australia...a very long flight and he was nutty from it. He was running around the airport yelling "F***, F***, F***" over and over.

The more she shushed him, the louder he got until everyone in the airport was laughing.

These are all too funny!! So its not only my daughter. lol

My daughter is all about the boyfriend thing too. She is in kinder and she has has the same boyfriend the entire year. Well she came home so sad the other day because he broke up with her so he could make every girl in the class his girlfriend and then choose between them all and pick his favorite.

These kids are to much!!

I dont even think I knew anything about sex until I was 13. :tt1:

We were looking at the kids class pictures yesterday and I asked the girl to point out her "boyfriend" Chance. She said "Umm, we broke up and now I am seeing Blake." 2nd grade. Love it.

My 5yo son loves to repeat things Daddy says. I think my parents were mortified the first time he called his Papa a douche bag. And when the dog whipped him with his tail and he grabbed himself screaming "ow, my junk!"

Extremely funny. I have a friend that has a son the same age as my daughter. They both enjoy watching Family Guy (I feel all that judgement.....quit being all judge-y). They don't really "get" all the jokes and terms, but my friend was surprised when her son called her a "juicebag", lol

No judegment here. My kids like it too.

Oh and the day my daughter let her glasses on the floor and they were stepped on she told me that God knows everything that is going to happen before it happens so it was kind of his fault as well.

Your parents sat you down??? Mine didn't...but that's ok, because as far as I am concerned they know nothing about sex. My mind will not accept that they could. Nope. Impossible.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
