Help...my husband doesn't understand.

Recommended Posts

Im on my second fill and have no problem with chicken. I just make sure I take little bites and chew very very well. I also make sure I take my time eating anything. I hate the thought of vomitting especially in public. So remember take your time and chew well.

The more fills you have, the more restriction you are going to get. This will result in some foods being crossed off the list, or prepared in a very special way to be consumed by a banded person. Sometimes all of the chewing in the world will not result in a good experience with certain foods. Each time you get a fill to get to that sweet spot, you will have to gingerly test all food groups.

Yes, I do know a lot of it is me. My version of slow may not be what is truly required. However, I know that some people really have issues with certain meats. Just as a forewarning to you, I had no problem with chicken or pork until my third fill.

God forbid!! No chicken:crying: I don't eat pork and after hearing so many horror stories about beef I don't eat that either. Oh well!! one food at a time.

Well I don't eat any type of fish and am not brave enough to try steak or beef. I've basically eaten only chicken since early February and have virtually no issues with it (knock on wood). I don't know what I would do without chicken to be honest. If it does get too difficult after my 3rd fill or so, I would likely get unfilled to keep eating it. I honestly think I may be at my sweet spot with only one fill. I have decent restriction and am (generally) not hungry. Best of luck all!

Hi, I'm new to this board. I've been reading a lot of threads and this one really caught my eye.

I was banded in Jan. and have had one fill. I've tryed most foods and don't seem to have much of a problem with meats although I like fish better. My problem seems to be with starches such as Pasta and bread. Bread fills me to fast and I don't much care for the feeling. Pasta is something I loved BS and now it drives me crazy because I can't seem to chew it enough. It slides down before you're ready to swallow.

As for the husband, I guess I'm lucky. He's been very supportive since I told him I was even considering doing it.

Does your husband have a problem with your surgery or just the amount of food your able to eat?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
