Going in for Surgery Again

Recommended Posts

Hello all-Im goin in again! August 29th,to take out the stitches. My port area has been so sore, and its gotten worse considering my doggie punched me in the tumy a couple days ago-right in the port!

Im not going to be completely under whuich is good because i have a rough time with that-its just like a "twilight"sleep, and i`ll be back home the same day. Anyone else have this happen?

Pray for me on the day for some relief!!!!

Stitches out? Did you have laproscopic or a full incision? But hey, my big ol' golden retriever, Landry, also hurt me. He took a running start and jumped on my belly! Ouch!!!! I thought I was going to pass out.

Heather I'm so sorry to hear you've been having pain. Are they taking the sutures that hold the port in place out?? Will he reposition your port elsewhere? I will pray for a quick recovery!

Im not quite sure-go figure-youd think i should ask that first, but no i hear surgery and i freeeze! Im talking to the nurse tomorrow to ask all those questions, fianlly.and i think it would be a good idea to get an xray to make sure everything is still in place from the doggie, and since ive eaten sooo much the past couple days-im not used to my fill and i got full REAL quick! I just want to make sure nothing slipped or is out of place.

My Dr did say that the stitches were probably the root of my pain,so it would be better to take them out-i guess they are supposed to be disolving to begin with-go figure.I1ll have to ask how exactly the port stays in place-im thinking either its in a spot where it would stay-being cushioned by the muscles and organs, but i have no idea...lol just my un-professional opinion=)

Oh my goodness Landry i have a (really muscular) min pin and OW! i can only imagine how you felt! I felt like i was going to die from pain!

Thanks everyone for the support=-) I`ll keep you all updated!

Best of luck to you. I have 3 Labrador's that weigh over 220lbs together. I go into defensive mode when they are lose in the house and one comes near me. I love them to death, but I think I would cry and then have to be taken via ambulance to the hospital if one nailed me.

Kinda sore, but nothing bad-i even went out to walgreens and did some shopping=-) not the GREATEST idea, but only b/c driving hurt my belly.

So,again im happy to report im home and all is well!!!! =-)

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
