"Hard" Proteins fill me up the most and quickest. I had rack of lamb the other night in a restaurant and pre band I could eat an appetizer, a salad and the whole rack of small ribs. On that night I had a few bites of salad and about two ribs. I was STUFFED. That rack made two more meals too. Nummy!!!

chicken

Chilli

Egg salad

tuna salad

Turkey anything... hard shell taco, meatloaf, meat patty w/onion & tomatoe slice

*most of my foods have a lubricant such as mayo, ranch or bar-b-q...

Mornings have been cottage or ricotta cheese.< /p>

Fruits are abundant as the last filler at the end of meals

peanuts and jerkey work good for a snack

any kind of meat I can find (slow cooked in my crock pot if possible because it makes it tender enough to go down)

Also those pre-packaged string cheeses

I order a garden salad from Wendys and add the small chili, stir, add a tiny bit of dressing, yummmmm. You not only save a $ from ordering the salad with grilled chicken, you get Fiber and Protein.< /p>

I also order a regular or soft taco from Taco Bell, then mix the contents of the taco with the pintos and cheese in a larger bowl and bingo, a meal in a bowl.

Obv, I'm not a big cook and I can not do the Protein Drinks, yukkkkkk.

One - Soy burger will do it for me. No bun - just a soy / garden burger & a little mustard. Huge Protein - min. calories. But high sodium. So I drink alot of H20.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
