Realize Band Anyone?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else decided on the Realize Band over the LapBand?

I asked for the Realize because the port is flatter and is suppose to be less noticeable. I also loved their online support system.

Other than the port and some shape differences, they're pretty much the same and have the same success rates. I was just wondering if anyone felt strongly about it.

I have the realize band and so does my husband. We have not had any trouble so far. Good luck to you!

I am scheduled for the Realize Band on Wed. 4 March. Can't wait. (but Tuesday night I might get a little worried about the surgery) For now I spend my evenings working on my 1948 Chevy P/U Hot Rod to keep my mind off the liquid diet and the surgery. I have been working on it in my garage for better than 8 years. I think it will be completed this year. New body and new truck....

I have the Realize Band and I was banded at the end of Jan. I haven't had any problems I haven't even had what they call bandster hell...yet. And I am losing pretty steady. 22 lbs so far.

The online support is the reason I picked this band. It is ok. I did Weight Watchers last year online and I like their site a lot better. I might email the Realize people with some suggestions.

I have the realize band. My doctor use to use the lapband, but switched to the realize band.

I got to goal on my Realize band in less than a year. It works great. Once I reached restriction, I stayed there for many, many months without requiring another fill.

I am happy I went with Realize, but I know the other option is good as well. I may have done just as well on the other band also.

Good luck!!!

My doctor offers a low profile port for the LapBand, so if your selecting the Realize Band for that reason just know that LapBand comes with a low profile port too.

I am not sure how helpful the website will be, but I know there is thread for Realize on this websire that might be helpful. Realize Band Surgery (NEW!) - Lap Band Surgery and Lap Band Discussion Forum

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
