Week After Surgery Questions

Recommended Posts

So, the pain I've been having, I'm assuming it's normal, but wanted to know what others thought. The back pain, incisions sites, etc.

But I'm really sore under my breasts. Like, extremely. My mom thinks they were probably clamped back during surgery (I'm a F cup) and there is slight bruising underneath of them.

I've also been having pain where the band is located. I'm assuming that this normal (the doctor knows about it) and that's it's just swollen.

Any advice to help any of the pain? I've been taking liquid tylenol with codeine but I'm pretty sure that's the reason I almost passed out after showering last night. (Oh the drama.)

Thanks!

My breasts are larger and I didn't have those issues...I'd check with my surgeon to be sure. They shouldn't have handled you so roughly.

Sorry I can't help you with the pain; I was lucky and liquid tylenol the first 2 days took care of it. If you're still taking your prescription pain killer, make sure you don't get constipated! :)

Good luck; it gets better.

Thanks. Hopefully by the time I see him next week, it won't hurt anymore.

And I will definitely keep the Constipation in mind, since I haven't gone since the day before my surgery.

I had the same pain that you are talking about especially around the port and I am a G cup. I think its totally normal. After two weeks time the pain went away for me.

That's exactly it! It's worse on the side with the port. The bruising is worse there too. Maybe that explains it.

And two weeks isn't too bad. It makes me hopeful for the end!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
