I need help to get started with lap-band!!!

Recommended Posts

Hello, my name is Charlotte McCoy. I have a Home childcare, so I am self employed. I have no major insurance to pay for the surgery, yet I am 5'3 and I weigh 356lbs. I JPS Connection, but they do not have a surgeon to cover the procedure. I have two kids that I can not even take to the movies. I know this because, I took them yesterday to see Madea Goes To Jail, and I cried thru the whole movies, because the arms on the chair were killing me. But how much can you deny your kids, because you are fat. The truth of the matter is, I am not ready to die. I want to live and live happy. I am married and he tries to support me mentally, but I know the truth about myself. What can I do? Who can help me?

:)

I went through a company called CareCredit and did my lapband self pay. Also, I found a doctor that had a fixed price...that covered everything for 2 years...that way there's no hidden fees to sneak up on me. The CareCredit website is just CareCredit if you're interested.

If financing it isnt possible then try finding a hospital in your area that has a weight loss center. A weight loss center is supported by lap band doctors and dietition that will work with you on a diet and excercise.

I always say that when it comes to anything in life as far as price goes, you get what you pay for so if you do look into Mexico be caution.

Best of luck and God Bless.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
