Hang in on there, everyone is different, & dont forget your body is still healing, as long as your doing everything your doctor is asking of you then your doing fine, the weight will start to come off, some lose quicker than others & thats fine, just remember once its gone its gone, make sure you are drinking plenty too & keep walking/moving about doing some exercises, remember its a tool & you still need to work hard at it to make it pay off for you.. good luck

I think unless you are on a prolonged liquid diet, you will lose slowly. liquid diets have fewer calories and many mushy foods are higher calorie, such as adding mayo to your chicken to make them mushy. ... at least that's what I told myself.

A big month is 10 lbs, steady, unless I have a cruise or special outings, such as in a few weeks Im going to a out of town wedding and 3 days on the road and not getting in my walking will obviously set me back that week. My aunts pies arent known to help with weight loss, so I know during those times I will not lose, and try not to gain.

slow and steady wins the race. I see many who were banded around when I was who are already down over 100 lbs and try not to get upset. Comparing yourself to the best losers wouldnt make you feel better, just as long as you are losing. If I am walking every day I dont plateau.

You really won't lose anything your first 2 months or so. Don't expect too. If you do, bonus. Mushy, soft foods are very calorie dense, and you can eat more of them. You don't have a fill yet, and may need several over the next 6-8 months to get any restriction at all. The 10lbs you've lost so far is great, but don't expect it to continue, and don't beat yourself up about it if it doesn't. I personally last 12 pounds the first week after placement, and didn't lose hardly another pound until about 4 months out after I had gotten a few fills. Stay strong and take this opportunity to retrain yourself how to eat. Small bites, small portions, lots of chewing and no drinking with meals. It will pay off!!!

Hey I'm in the same boat as you. Once I started on pureed foods my weight loss stopped. It's your body's way of adjusting to being back on real food in there. Hang in there! Once your body gets used to being back on real food again the weight loss will start to happen again!

My doctor told me not to expect to lose anything until the first fill . . . and just consider any loss as a bonus. A lot of the liquid/mushy foods have a lot of carbs in them and you can get quite hungry during this stage. Real loss begins for most people after the first fill.

Even with that, you are doing excellent. You should lose somewhere between .5 - 1 kg's a week after banding when following the plan. It sounds to me like you are doing as good or even better than you would if you had restriction.

Just keep up the good work and the weight will drop :0).

I'm 3 and half weeks post op also and my weight lost has been slow and steady plus I feel like i have no restriction. My doctor told me to try and hold off for 2 more weeks until I can get my fill. I try to stay away from white flour carbs and i focus on my Protein alot. I hope this help. we are in the same boat.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
