Three Weeks Out!

Recommended Posts

I cannot believe how fast this process has been!! I actually had to look at the calendar to see if it had really been THREE weeks??!! I am at a 'plateau', but start solids tomorrow and am hoping for continued success...How are my other late January 09's doing?? Did your weight start dropping again after beginning solids?? Check in and let us know how things are going and how you are dealing with this physical and emotional journey!! :tt2:

I am six weeks out and yes it went by very quick. I start regular foods this weekend :tt2: Part of me is excited and the other part is scared. I finally can have a salad too which I have been craving. I have also been released at the gym so I have been there this week. I lost another two pounds this week and I have good restriction without a fill so I am happy about that. Next week when I see my surgeon will tell me how I did with my weight loss and if I will have a fill so far he said I am okay without one.

I am six week out now. Yes, you will still lose little after you are on solids but it will be slow for some. I lost about 30 lbs so far. I had my first fill tonight and no problems. I also hit a pleatu but this fill should (according to the doctor) move the scale again. At the first through the three week I would eat about 1/4 to 1/2 cup of food per meal. Then for the following weeks it went up to 1 to 2 cups per meal. I knew I needed a fill. Also Kristilaw I gotta ask you are you keeping a jounral with the count of Proteins, Carbs, Cals and Fats. I was told to watch them. When I did the scale did move two lbs. That help the pleatu. Oh yea, don't forget to excerise and keep changing it around. This helps the body guessing.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
