3rd Fill and NSV

Recommended Posts

I got my 3rd fill today so I have a total of 4.5cc in a 10cc band. I was worried it was a little tight, I could barely swallow afterward, but I know from the previous 2 that it relaxes pretty quick so I told the Dr it was all good. I had a cup of chicken broth for dinner and it went down fine.

This one hurt a bit. I don't know if the numbing agent didn't have a chance to do it's job or what but man I felt everything. The Dr said he thinks maybe we will be there with this one or maybe one more fill. I go back again in 3 weeks. I had only lost 4 lbs in the last 3 weeks, I was hoping for 2 lbs a week but hey, it's going down.

I've noticed the last few days that my pants are starting to get baggier. I tried on my next smaller jeans about a week ago and they are still too tight so I didn't try anything else. I stopped at Walmart to get some liquid motrin (the fill was throbbing every now and then and a little bit of a sting still) and I wanted some new PJ's. Mine are swallowing me right now. I found some on clearance but they were an XL. I went ahead and bought them because they were $5 (actually $2.50 at the checkout) and I knew I would fit in them soon. I also got a new pair of knit workout pants also in XL. Didn't think either would fit but I decided to try them on anyway. Guess what? They both fit. I couldn't believe it. It's been ages since I could wear an XL and not even a plus size.

So I had to go shopping in the back of the closet again. All my 18W pants fit now. I have a couple of reg 18's that are still a bit tight but I have another 4 pair of pants to wear and can add the baggy ones to the give away box. I started out wearing a very tight 22 (probably should have been wearing 24) and lots of knit pants. I also dug out the next smaller undies because those were getting baggy too. Woo Hoo!

Teresa, Congratulations on those 18W and XL clothing!!! I was wearing a size 22/24 when I started this process. Right after Christmas I went to Kmart and bought myself some 18W jeans on sale for $9. I figured I'd have them when I lost more weight and could wear them. Just for fun I tried them on to see how tight they were and they fit perfectly. I went back and picked up more of them. Inside I kept telling myself that I wasn't really in an 18 and that they must run big. Yesterday I stopped at Fashion Bug to pick up an outfit for an interview I had today and I tried on some jeans there in a size 18 and they fit also. I am so excited. Although the scale isn't really showing a loss, I must be losing inches for those pants to fit.

I know that we'll both be shopping in the non-plus sizes soon. Won't it be nice to walk into any store and be able to buy something besides accessories?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
