I didn't have that problem post op. I was liquids only, so it was "liquids in, liquids out". If you are going to take a fiber supplement, please make sure you take in extra Water.< /p>

Call your surgeon tomorrow. You should still be going. If you are still taking (or took) an opiod pain killer it can constipate you. Your surgeon will tell you what to do! :rose: (and even on liquids you should still have BM's)

That was the worst problem for me. I think it was the pain killers. I have a tea I make that helps me with Constipation, but I have to say, when I think about the surgery, the worst part for me was the constipation. Call Dr. and see what you need to do... Hope you feel better soon.

Hi,

I was banded on Mon 1/26 and I didn't have a BM until Sat; then didn't again for another week. I am one that is very regular. My doc told me to use Milk of Magnesia. I am still having issues. I am on mushies:unsure: and the trans from liquid to mushies made me go! Good Luck!

I didn't have that problem but it was mentioned before I left the hospital. The bariatric nurse warned me to expect the unexpected when it comes to BM's. She said some will experience Constipation, some won't. I had the liquids in, liquids out, problem. Mention it to your surgeon but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your intestinal system is going through a lot of changes. Hope you feel better soon!

Hi I was banded on fri the 13th & same thing as you till today. I had a little milk blended with some asparagus Soup & within an hour BM. Don't know if a little dairy would help you maybe you could try it?

I'm three weeks out and have a terrible problem with this. I have been taking laxatives for the past four days. I know you aren't supposed to keep taking these for very long. Is Miralax a laxative or is it something we can keep taking all the time?

I have to take vicodin every day for my Fibromyalgia so this problem isn't going to go away on its own.

Cookie-

My doctor said that Mirilax is safe to take daily, I usually take one dosage with my coffee or tea every morning and I haven't had any problems since. It doesn't give the usual bloating and cramping that come with other laxatives, though it can be a bit pricey. I've found the best deal at Sam's.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
