  1. Hi everyone, I had my surgery done in western mass. Dr. John Kasper was my surgeon out of new england surgical group. I also had my surgery at Mercy. I can not say enough about all of them! they are amazing!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy i decided to go with them. I was banded 2/11...and it was an incredibly easy process and recovery. just about two weeks out and feelng great. Also cant say enough about mercy hospital staff! i was sooo nervous and they were just amazing.

  8. Hi lookingtoloose, I am 25 and live in Western Mass. Ur post is soooo similar to my story and my reasons for WLS. I will be banded 2/11 and am scared out of my mind! but like you, i want to have a family some day, be able to walk up stairs and my feet not be sore. Personally, i feel that there is no other time but now for me! I am taking two weeks off work, I work in people's homes with kids that have dev. disablities and im in school for my masters. It will be hard but we are young and I feel like i can't wait. I have been very open with people in my life of what i am doing. And i have not yet encountered anyone who is not supporitve. I would not be able to do this without their support. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. I just wanted to let you know that someone your age is out there is going threw the same things as you. Jess

  13. Hi Everyone, This is my first post and i am looking for some comfort or advice. I began this process in august 08. i have completed the NUT and psych evals and am going for my second visit with the surgeon on dec 1. i think after this meeting if he approves me everything then gets sent to insurance for approval. However during the last 4 months my weight has fluccuated about 10lbs. At my first visit with the surgeon i weighed around 247 now i am between 255-260. do you think since i have gained he will not approve me for surgery?? i have started to address things that have contributed to my weight and have begun seeing a psych. Has anyone expierenced this? I really hope i am still able to be approved! thanks for taking the time to read this:smile2:
  14. Hello everyone! this is such a great website, im so happy i have found it! well i have just finished my psych and nut evals and am waiting to send everything to the insurance. My question for all you pro's is some tips on meals. I have been trying to practice new behaviors. when exploring the "what did you eat today" thread, some ppl got pre-made or packaged foods from stores. I was wondering what some good examples or easy no-cook meals are? I work full time and am in school for my master's. So i am interested in some meals that i can take with me instead of having to cook at home. Thanks so much!!!!!
