When you get a revision from band to sleeve, does that make you a renewbie?

Go Dan . . . Go Dan . . . :thumbup:

Welcome to the land of the banded . . . may your posts never lose their edge, now we can start some newbie bashing :tongue_smilie:

Anyways, I am really happy for you. Life is definitely more interesting after banding as you are rapidly learning now that you have joined the land of the snobs.

So I know this thread is a little old...but I found it hysterical:laugh: However on page 5 is a link to a thread started by "maestrita" whom Dan nominated for Queen of snobbyness or something:rolleyes2:.....Anyway here is her quote" It is interesting that there is an assumption by someone who is not even banded that perhaps I haven't done my homework.I am a School Teacher.That's what maestra means.BTW"

I found this quote interesting on so many levels but I'm only here for one....."MAESTRITA" you are now my "DISCIPULA"(female pupil) unless you are male and you are now my "DISCIPULUS" and everyone reading is my "DISCIPULI"M(2NDdeclinsion) and I "V-QUEEN" or"REGINA"(queen) am now your.....say it with me "MAGISTRA"(instructress) or "MAGISTREA "F (1st declinsion) but then I would be more than one....this is the closest translation to "teacher" in latin if you are female...The closest translation for"teacher" is "MAGISTER or MAGISTRI M(2ND) which mean teacher, tutor,master ,expert,chief..But then you would have to be MALE...Now everyone go home and do your homework!!.:rolleyes2:......Also before we go around nominating people for "Queen"....:sneaky:dan......Please remember................... I AM THE ONLY QUEEN!!!!

MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...:scared2::lol::scared2::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

        Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

        Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
