Describe the feeling of Full, going on 4 weeks post

Recommended Posts

I need some help with what the feeling of full is? I am almost at 4 weeks out and I am getting hungry at times. I am trying to keep at 1000 cal. I hear my stomach at morning and at night, sounds. I think they are coming from the bottom of stomach??

When I have my meals I can easily finish 1-2 cups and sometimes feel still hungry. I stop and wait, but then about hour later I go for a snack, pudding or yogurt, something.

I have read posts regarding the feeling a full sensation, described as "cant eat more, cant finish meal". I dont ever feel that way. Maybe I am not paying attention to my body, hunger? Maybe I am still stuck on my old eating habits.....eat eat eat till you bust!! LOL

If you can help me find a way to tune into my hunger, real hunger I would appreciate it.

I go for a fill on the 17th of this month, maybe that has something to do with it, Band was not filled when placed.

Thanks in advance.

I have been walking. so getting some excerise Patti with a smile:tongue2:

Take heart, I know what you mean. It seems like the time I hit 4 weeks until now my hunger has escalated and I don't get a major sensation of "fullness" I go back to the doctor on the 23rd and am hoping for a fill then. I just keep trying to stay busy at work and have the fat free Snacks available. they at least hold me off for a couple of hours (well one maybe!). I also have been working on taking very small bites and chewing, chewing, chewing. Soething about that helps me. Good Luck and hopefully the fill will help!

Oh yea I know how you feel!!! Can't get a word in on the noisy tummy! I had my surgery on 12/31/08 and just had my first fill today and mine was also put in empty.

My Dr told me when I went in for my 2 week visit to not panic if I did not loose weight but to try not to gain any. since there is really not much in the way of restriction from your band yet. Do not panic! I could still eat almost as much as normal but I made it a point of stopping when I thought I had had enough. Forget the 1000 cals, I would be supre cranky!! Just hang on til you get a fill. I got mine today and am on liquids til tomorrow and then to soft foods again. I had to drink a glass of Water to make sure it went thru, since then I had a Meal Replacement shake, still noisy but I don't care at this point I am just ready to start feeling restriction. Keep me posted. Gina

Thanks, I hope to make it till this coming Tues. I just would like to understand my hunger pangs, if that is what it is....not just mental. I wish I could understand the meaning of "full". Dont get me wrong, I dont want to PB or have major chest pain, as posted by others. I just would like to know I am at content with my meals. The weight stalled this passed week, I am down 1 lb finally ( more than 1wk). I am trying my best with good choices, it's getting somewhat difficult, and those ugly habits are trying to come back.

Good luck to us all:thumbup: thanks again, Patti with a warm smile for YOU!

I know it's hard! I am having the growls again today but it's cause I am on liquids till tomorrow. My Dr didn't act like the noise was anything out of the ordinary. Just remember to chew it upo really good and personally I found that drinking some Water before the meal helps me eat less but as per directions 15 mins before and 1 hour after. UGH! That is the hardest part for me. I drink alot while eating so I am having to retrain myself. Good luck and don't be afraid to ask your Dr anything!!

I have yet to feel full. Hoping that will happen soon!

I have found that not drinking much with meals is my key to getting a "full feeling." It was my habit to drink 2-3 glasses of tea with each meal, so I have had to work hard to stop this. I still drink alot between meals and that helps. I do have about a half a glass with meals. For me the "full feeling" starts as a brief feeling that something is "stuck" and normally, I would take a drink and feel fine and keep eating. Now I stop the and then I realize I have had enough. It definitely got easier to identify after my first fill, which was 4cc. Good luck!

If you hadn't had a fill yet, I wouldn't worry to much. Also, it make take a few fills to get just right. I believe that not drinking w/meals is the key here. When I don't drink with meals I can only eat small portions. Then if you eat just small portions every 2-3 hours you stay ahead of your hunger, and you really don't consume alot of calories. Exercise is the real key here. If I'm not exercising I lose maybe 1 lb a week. If I am exercising every day same amount of food I can lose 5-6 lbs. I just hit 50 lbs lost today is a matter of fact. I haven't updated my ticker because I forgot my pin. I'll make a new one soon.

Thanks all, I did a # on myself yesterday. I had a brial shower to attend, italian food....well....I was able to eat all my food! I was stupid not to have had my oatmeal breakfast! I got so busy and before you know it it was time to go to the shower, I messed up. I was hungry, I didnt feel full so I kept eating off the plate. I go to the doctor this Tues, I hope to discuss this with him and hope he agrees to a fill. I did make my Valentines weight challenge...made 218, and hoped for 219, so that was good. Maybe that is why I did what I did?? I tend to do that to myself,,,,,do good.....mess up:crying:. I will get back on track today:thumbup:

Hope all had a nice Valentines Day

Patti with a smile:tt1:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
