Congratulations again! I'm being banded March 25th. I need to lose 200-250 pds. I'm trying to decide what kind of band to use. What band do you have? Realize or what? Thanks!

Wow 6'9" your a giant.LOL What does the doc say? At that height all you may need is the excess skin removed. Ive heard of people losing a ton of weight and just the excess skin is 30 or 40 lbs. My husband holds his weight well also. Hes 6'4" 300 lbs and looks great if you ask me. Keep us posted on your progress. It is so interesting.

Since you've had true success..do you think that MEGA-T is a good supplement to take while on my diet plan with this band? I mean..I take it...and I get hot..Do I suppose to get really hot...? Is that because my metabolism is working up...a sweat in me? Let me know peeps.

I would be lieing to you if I said I even knew what the hell Mega-T was. (confused smiley thingy)

I take the Viactive Calcium and Vitamin chews....two of each per day...they are flavored caramel, chocolate, rasberry and a couple others so I get my "candy" feeling as well.

That is all I supplement. Hope that helps....from your number one "peep" ;)

Well, another milestone was reached the other day. For the first time since sometime back in 1990 I am in the "200 club" - just barely - but I am there.

Another eleven pounds and I will have lost half of my body weight.

Just proof that anyone can do this if I have. Get up everyday and tell yourself you can!

Dab,

You are truly an inspiration. I was just banded on May 8th of this year. I am starting my journey a little heavier than you were. Preop-597, day of operation- 570. Your story has definately given me hope that it is possible to achieve your goal. I haven't really put out a goal weight yet. I just want to take it one day at a time and go from there. I'm doing really well, everything went well and I have had no problems so far. My first appointment is wednesday the 20th and we'll see if we lost some weight. I've been on liquids so far so I'm sure I lost a few. Good Luck to everyone and remember to always stay positive.

you know, you might want to check the niacin in it.

niacin can make you flush, making you feel hotter than maybe you are. just a thought!

Don14 -

you are taking the same approach I did.....one day at a time...one small victory at a time. Best of luck with your journey and don't get down on yourself when you hit those small walls that I am sure you will face along the way.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
