Getting my first fill today!

Recommended Posts

:smile:Yes, I'm going for my first fill today, it was scheduled for Monday, but I can't take it, I'm starving so I called the doctors office and they told me to come on in! I excited and now nervous to the point that I'm sick!:bananalama:

Wish me luck, and hopefully I can have them snap a few photos of the doing today, and I will post them!

Good luck!

I am a few weeks behind you and am starving now ! My first fill isn't until a week from tomorrow.

Hope it is as easy as people say - hope to see a post from you letting us know how it went!

How exciting for you both! My first fill didn't give me an iota of restriction but it was still exciting for me because it felt like I was progressing. Most don't have any pain/issues with fills and either way, it is WORTH it! Good luck!

Just got back from my first fill! Yeay, it was so simple - he just had me push my belly up the ceiling and there it was, I did'nt feel a thing, I could taste it though, is that normal?

Congratulations on your first fill, Beth. I'm glad it was so easy for you. Mine have been too. I've had six, and I'll have to say, I've never tasted anything. It'll be interesting to see if anyone else has.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
