Any February 16th bandsters?

a couple weeks to go now... yay!

I noticed from other threads that there are a few of us getting banded 02/16, let's stay in touch here if we can.

I'm going to Dr. Ortiz in TJ, Mexico. How about you? i've been pretty excited for the past few weeks since i booked it, but now i'm getting nervous. i have a million thoughts running through my head: what if my liver's too big? what if i'm one of few who get complications? what if i can't adjust to the lifestyle changes?. i guess these are all normal thoughts before going under the knife....

anyways, despite all that, i'm still totally excited for the band to be in. i can't believe that in less than a month i'm getting banded!!! omg, to finally have hope of being thin and healthy...

Dad-gummit!! Count me in. According to the Wii Fit, I gained a pound over the weekend. I knew I was bad, I just knew it! No protein shake and bad food choices. Add that to not walking, and BAM!! Shelly am not happy!!!!:crying:

i haven't scheduled mine yet. the clinic said 6-8 weeks post op. i'm going to wait and see how my band reacts to different solid foods.

Mornin' gang.

Well, last night I had some chicken breast for dinner. I don't know if I got some stuck, or what, but after a few bites, I got his horrendous pain! It started on my left side and kinda crawled down my torso. It scared the snot out of me for a second. I thought I had hurt myself. But after a few minutes it went completely away. TOTALLY weird!

Anyone else have this happen to them? Anyway, I am staying away from chicken for awhile. Back to ground turkey for me!

Hugs,

That has happened to me too, but for me I think I was eating too fast. My doctor said when moving to solid foods that meats should be moist to help with it going down. I'm not trying to accuse your chicken of being dry:tongue2: but that could've also been a possiblity. Oh and check out my new pic I posted of my scars

 MY chicken? Dry?? WHAT!!??

Okay, yea, it was really dry. :) Hubby was late coming home for dinner, and it just sat and dried up.

I bet I was eating too fast, like you said. (I was super hungry!!) Thanks for solving my mystery girl!!!

omg, same thing happened to me too! i was definitely eating too fast. i made spaghetti with meatballs, and could hardly eat any spaghetti. it felt like i was getting heartburn or something in my esophogus and i felt full after only a few bites. i waited fifteen minutes and felt better, so i thought i'd have some meatballs. it's so true what everyone says, if you take a break between bites and chew small bites, it all goes down way easier. this whole eating with the band is definitely going to take some getting used to.

Good Morning Everyone! Well I got my first fill today and honestly, it kinda hurt a little. I got 3.5 ccs and I have a 10 cc band. So I'm back on liquids today and its not so bad and my total weight loss is 25 lbs!! Yay! I'm down to 222 as of today! I guess me getting strict after that cake helped.

Hey Alcine, I was about to congratulate you on the 25 lbs and say I can't wait to get there too, then i looked up on my ticker and noticed that I had lost that amount too LOL:).

How's the post fill going? Was it your doctor who wanted you to get your fill or did you decide to? My doc told me to wait 6-8 weeks post op, so i'm curious about how your fill is.

That fill hurt! Maybe I'm just a baby, but it stung really bad. I don't feel a difference yet but that may be because I was on liquids yesterday and I start pureed food today. My doctor was the one who told me to get the fill, in fact all his patients are to come in on their 4 week post op to get filled.

Congrats to you too Babe on your 25lbs!!

hi iwalktheline! Congrats on your 15lbs, that's wonderful!! if it makes you feel any better, only 12lbs of my weightloss is post op. i was pretty bummed about that until rececently. i was always comparing my progress to others, but I realised that my body has always worked at it's own pace, so why would the band change that? after all, it's not like my body underwent a personality transplant, right?!? in a few weeks, after the first fill, i'm sure the weight loss will speed up. besides, 6 months ago i would have been overjoyed if i had lost 12 lbs in a month.

i'm glad you've joined us on this thread. hopefully, we can all continue to support eachother over the next few months.

hugs,

babe
